Middle Row— Baggerly, Goss, Henderson, Lusco, Carter, Laverty, Jenkins, Cuda, Carr, Sylvester, Pierce, Gaiser, Young. Back Row — Mr. Markey, Hess, Davis, Large, Carpenter, Sooter, Alexander, Kleever, Jasso, Lembke, Lynch, Gardner, Long. FOOTBALL ONLY ONE LETTERMAN returned. Captain Jack Hinton. to open the 1938 season. The rest ol the team had no previous experience. The team was not victorious, but gave every opponent a tough game. TWO LINESMEN, Jack Hinton, end. and Carl Lynch, guard, received positions on the Interscholastic League All-Star second team. Five lettermen will return for next year ' s team. CAPTAIN JACK HINTON was strength in the purple line. His fast-smashing play earned him a berth on the All-Star second team. Coach E. A. Markey considered him the best block- er in the league. SERVING HIS SECOND YEAR as football coach of Northeast, Coach E. A. Markey fash- ioned a team, out of green material, that made all their opponents fight to win. THE TEAM IN ACTION
