To meet requirements set by Title IX, a federal law passed in 1975, all classes-including home economics had to be opened to boys and girls. According to Mrs. Blanche Young, home economics teacher, the co-ed classes had advantages and disadvan- tages. Boys and girls can learn a lot from each other, she said. However, some of the boys have a tendency to show out for the girls.
