E' A, 3 XM. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday one could listen to a slight variation in the broadcast format of local radio station WJAG. NNC students enrolled in Broadcasting courses write and produce a five- minute news program three times a week featuring highlights of campus activities, personalities and the social scene. Students scout and deliver their own news. The program proves to be both a fun and practical experience. 9

One of the most active and outspoken groups at NNC this year was Phi Rho Pi, the honorary speech organization. Striving toward the goal of L.A. or Bust this enterprising group would do al- most anything for money--including selling pop and popcorn at Senate activities, peddling candy bars, announcing at a Sun- set Plaza Style Show, washing and waxing a trailer, and touring area elementary schools with a Children's Interpretive Theatre of Dr. Suess and Winnie-the-Pooh. Phi Rho Pi entered approximately nine tournaments this year and won trophies and! or certificates for finalists in five tournaments including the Doane and Wayne Invitationals, the State Tournament at Platte College, Regionals at BCCJC and the National Phi Rho Pi Tournament in Los Angeles, California--the highlight of the year. ,H lg V4 ggi 4 .Q sz f-. 1 .ei ' v x,w ,..
