THE VERY REVEREND WILLIAM D. BUCKLEY, O.S.F.S. Father Buckley has served as Provincial Superior of the Oblates for the past twelve years. ln this capacity he is the head of all the Oblate communities in the United States. Since his appointment in 1948, the Oblates have grown tremendously which necessitated the enlargement of seminary facilities, a new Novitiate and the acquiring of several Oblate schools throughout the country. The Motherhouse of the Order being nearby, in Wilmington, Delaware, we were fortunate in having Father visit us often. His exemplification of Oblate spirit made an impression which shall long remain with us. Three members of the class of '30, Fr. Edward Carlin, 0.S.F.S.p His Excellency Edward J. Schlotterback, O.S.F.S., D.D., and Fr. John Kinniry, O.S.F.S., enioy a reunion during the Bishop's visit from Africa.

The bishop was a graduate of the class of 1930. His Excellency was the first American Oblate to be raised to the episcopacy. Previous to his elevation, Bishop Schlotterback occupied the position of regional superior of the Oblates in the Missions of Southwest Africa, a post which he still holds in addition to his duties as Bishop. God be with you, Bishop, as you continue to sow the seed of faith in Africa. llPfRl0R.S' THE VERY REVEREND DOMENICO BALDUCELLI, O.S.F.S. Father Balducelli, the Superior General of the Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales, with residence in Rome, visited Northeast Catholic last year. His humility and gentle voice gave us an insight to the way of an Oblate mind. Our faculty exempli- fies his spirit and we the students pray that we may be influ- enced too. VERY REVEREND JOHN F. TOCIK, O.S.F.S., LL.D. RECTOR Father Tocik, our Rector, have been a considerate and helpful leader during our years at North, putting into practice the Salesian way of life. This is evident in his patient, under- standing manner. No matter what he may be doing, our Rector always finds time to pass on to us a few words of advice or counsel. Father Tocik has the added responsibility of being the Religious Superior of the Oblate Community at North. Father's untiring efforts and devo- tion to duty have won for him the admiration and respect of both students and faculty.
