Hierarchy OU' X 1 , X 'I ,le 5 2 f ECCE SACERDOS MAGNUS! In the times of great stress God raises up a Moses to lord his people. Such a Moses has been Pope Pius XII. He has desired to lead the world to the radiant crown of Mary. This year saw our beloved Pontilf wage a war against Death. For a time we thought the light of Rome would be snutfed out. While we at North prayed, for his recovery, his brave spirit rallied him back to health. Let it be our constant prayer that the remainder of his pontificate be as he so ardently desires. 3:1- SL I sf I ' 2 ', -s, ..,.,, r :wif

BISHOP McSHEA Bishop McShea is the latest addition to the Philadelphia Hierarchy, being consecrated bishop in 1952 by Archbishop Cicognani, the Apostolic Delegate. As a graduate of our friendly cross-town rivals, West Cath- olic, we have every wish that he may suc- ceed in all endeavors. May he continue to wear the pectoral cross with as much dis- tinction as in the past. lbs 1. Qs.- X. I' ARCHBISHOP O'HARA The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is indeed for- tunate to have as its spiritual head Archbishop John O'Hara. This eminent scholar who has done much to further Catholic education in the United States has demonstrated his interest in North Catholic time and time again. Recently the Archdiocese has embarked on a far seeing program of educational expansion. That it is destined to succeed is due in no small measure to our beloved Archbishop-brilliant scholar, remarkable educator, able shepherd of his flock, humble priest of God. BISHOP McCORMICK As Pastor of the vibrant parish of St. Stephen which has a long standing tradition of being at the top of everything in Philadelphia, Bishop McCormick naturally comes in con- tact with North very often. His manner and able administration have won for him the admiration of all he meets. We pray for him a long and happy service in the vine- yard of the Lord. -3-
