To parenTs belong The righf and duTy of educaTing Their childre The office of The school is To complement The work of parenTs and ' fulfill The funcTions which They delegofe To iT, buT noT To usurp The righTs. ln This Democracy of ours, all pupils of high school age should hai The opporTuniTy of a high school educafion. They should have an 0 porTuniTy To selecf courses cooperaTively wiTh The aid of parenfs al Teachers. The school should offer Them various pupil acTiviTies whii They may freely choose, and in which They are given a chance To devel: iniTiaTive and leadership. For menTal discipline, sTudy hobiTs, learnir habiTs, and culTure, The TradiTional academic courses are unrivalle New and modern courses should be presenfed boTh for superior sT clenTs and lor Those who eiTher cannoT or will noT achieve menTal grow' from The TradiTional academic subiecfs. Teachers should use new and modern meThods in Their insTrucTio as well as The old Tried and True meThods.
