INTRODUCTION TO HISTORY - CLASS OF ’62 Every class which has thus far graduated from Northeast has placed its mark upon our fine school. The class of 1962 hopes that we have done the same. Through the span of six years we have grown to value an education. Only as mem¬ bers of high school does youth realize the perspective of life and begin to adjust itself accordingly. An indelible mem¬ ory of personal feeling toward our school will forever exist. These high school days, and especially our wonderful sen¬ ior year, are a part of us. Perhaps the greatest happiness of all is to recognize the mental and physical development that years bring about. It is easy for every one of us to recollect our trials and tribulations as junior high students. Each grade completed made us feel as though we had passed a milestone never before reached. Each year our class came back only to find school ever more exciting and challenging. Swelled heads never resulted from teachers compliments. We benefited from them. It has been a joy to know that we were recognized and treated well. In return, the class of ' 62 sincerely hopes that our faculty has been given the feeling that its loyal efforts have produced what they would term a success. HISTORY - 1956- 57 - So innocent and so young, Our fears were many; There was so much to be done. Our class was divided; No togetherness existed. Seventh grade, in our minds, will never be misty. Mrs. Kennedy, Mrs. Coleman, Mr. Bacon, and Mr. Carrington were Our class sponsors four, A tip of the hat for their patience galore! 1957- 58 - One year gone by - We felt we were kings And looked upon seventh graders as if they were things. Upperclassmen were our idols; Being freshmen was our dream. Alas! We were still too young to hold club titles. How silly we were We don ' t care to infer. 1958- 59 - Freshmen at last, 66 strong, Co-operation and teamyork helped us along. Our first serious thoughts and words to the future Were directed with care, For we knew that our occupations were knock¬ ing there. Our year was brightened with our first class party. Ninth grade saw Mrs. Carr and Mr. Davis as permanent Class sponsors just starting. 1959- 60 - The distance between the Seniors and us was now only two years, About such things as Physics and Chemistry, we had our fears. The work was more difficult, but nothing could surpass How we toiled and sweated in Algebra II class! Through our able teachers we learned And were transformed from memorizers to thinkers with a yearn. CLASS OF 62 1960- 61 - How the summer did change us! It ' s hard to believe The kind and amount of respect we received. What exists today, existed then: The strong competition with Seniors again. Don ' t Take My Penny and buying class rings, Plus the King and Queen Ball gave this year a real zing! With social events and two class parties Soon as seniors we would be starting. 1961- 62 - As we look over the years past, We suddenly realize that this is our last. The accomplishment and satisfaction make us glad, But in a small, undefinable way, we ' re sad. The work, the glamour, the splendor, have come to an end; Now in life ' s work, time we will spend. Senior pictures, senior play, senior this and senior that, Money-making schemes made the treasury fat! Of all year one thought left its mark; That is, We can ' t wait for our Washington trip to start. Class day was a blast, to say the least, And the class party was sort of a feast. In unison we ' ll all agree That this year was the finest to go down in memory. Baccalaureate and Commencement, which mean so much. Offered the grand finale, the final touch. Dates: WASHINGTON TRIP - May 24, 25, 26, 27 CLASS DAY (NIGHT) - May 29 BACCALAUREATE - June 3 COMMENCEMENT - June 7

To the Faculty - we leave sincere thanks for your help¬ fulness and understanding. To the Juniors - we leave our position as seniors; may you fill it well. To the Sophomores - we leave—it isn ' t much, but we leave it. To the Freshmen - we leave three more years of misery. I, Dee Abell, will my role as the Perfect Idiot to Ronnie Jones and Ted Hayes. I, Judy Antisdel, will my one and only brother to Bernita McKernan. I, Gary Bates, will my boy scout uniform to Grace Rowe. I, Judy Belcher, will my charming personality to Ed Strope and Roy Edwards. I, Beverly Brink, will my slim, trim figure to Levi Frisbie and Larry Brown. I, June Brown, will my innocent airs” to Mike Beck¬ with. I, Penny Casterline, will my position as Teacher’s Trial to Dennis Taylor and Carl Russell. We, Margaret Smith and Barbara Clearwater, will our paint brushes to Linda Kipp. I, Lora Crain, will my May Queen ' s throne to the next junior queen. I, Ruth Daugherty, will my diamond and nightly letter writing to Claudia Arnold and Arlene Clark. I, Carl Eastman, will my talent of staying away from girls to Brian Coleman and Ronnie Rice. I, Preston Edsell, will my blond hair to Joyce Bowen and Duane Soper. I, Pat Field, will my neat appearance to Martha Burgess and Janet Warrick. I, Lloyd Fox, will my agricultural ability to William Kissell. I, Bill Fuller, will my seat in Miss Dyszel’s study hall to Darius Bolton and Larry Jones. We, Debbie Hale and Dean Fields, will our position as couple of the class. I, Alan Gamble, will my ability to get along with Mr. Davis to Halbert Brink. We, Edith Gamble and Vicky Edsell, will our long hair to Carol Sink and Eileen Williams. I, Gary Green, will my ability to speak in public to Paul Milnes. I, Ronnie Hibbard, will my height to Jean Manchester, Joan Robinson, and Neil Benjamin. I, Larry Herbert, will my naturally curly hair to Betty Warfle and Pat Westbrook, for no more nightly pin¬ ups. I, Carol Johnson, will my size 5 dresses to Thelma Devine. I, Donna Kipp, will my knee socks to Carol Cooley. I, David LaBarre, will my map of Sayre to anyone who can put it to good use. I, Alan McCarthy, will my roller skates to Sharyl Chaffee and Dawn Darling. I, Rose Mary McKernan, will my ability to get along with Mr. Bacon to Carolyn Horton. I, Cathy Moore, will my ability in athletics to Gertrude Brink. We, Paul Sink and Gary Moore, will our seats in Future Nurses Club to Elaine Howland. I, Fred Moscrip, will my excellent spelling ability to Mickey Paiewski. I, Janice Morgan, will my shy, quiet ways to Martha Cook and Vicky Kendrick. I, Linda Parks, will my sax appeal to anyone who wants my seat in band. I, Shirley Pooler, will my P.O.D. book to Bill Ryan and Fred Keir. I, Jim Remich, will my pretty legs to Donna Harring¬ ton, my physique to Larry Morgan, and my smile to Ralph Towner. I, Jane Robinson, will my blond hair to Douglas Folk, my slim waist to Gary Newman, and my charming smile to Ronnie Davis. I, Lucille Rockwell, will my short hair to Connie Cragle. I, Ruth Sampson, will my giggle to Russell Coleman and Jim Decker. I, Tom Sink, will my love of the Yankees to John Hennip and Jack Carr. I, Carl Smith, will my humorous, witty ways to John Young and John Ross. I, Victor Soreny, will my suave, coy ways to George Rogers and Steve Leutbecker. I, Dick Taylor, will my bermuda shorts to Charles Allen. I, Gary Thompson, will my love of school to Duane Carrington and Bill Parks. I, Marleah Upham, will my position on the cheerlead¬ ing squad to anyone who thinks she can follow code 4. I, Sue Vandervort, will my red hair to Benny Wanzo and Vern Tucci. I, Ronnie Wandell, will my long neck, my keen eye¬ sight, and my good marks to Connie Crain and Lorna Lawrence. I, Lucille Welch, will my pierced ears to Blair Babcock and Roy Brown. I, Richard White, will my absentee record to Ray Schrader. I, Robert Wilmot, will my ping-pong paddles to Larry Taylor and Bill Smith. I, Edna Young, will my knowledge in Home Ec. to Robert Whalen.

CLASS PROPHECY The year of the class reunion is 1982; The setting for the gala event is a really big - T.V. show. The name of this show is What ' s My Line With a handsome Master of Ceremonies; Why, it ' s the top literary man of our class, None other than VICTOR SORENY. PAT FIELD is on the panel, She was always especially neat, Now she is a dress designer; Field’s Frocks cannot be beat. MARLEAH UPHAM is also a panelist; Tonight, she is a special guest. She digs up dirt for the gossip c olumn; And they say it is the best. And also with us Is the man who predicts the potato yield; It ' s TOM SINK, Sect ' y of Agriculture; He ' s always outstanding in his field. GARY THOMPSON is on the panel, He ' s especially partial to blondes. You should see how trim he is; He operates Thompson ' s Reducing Salons. Signing in first is DEE ABELL; His occupation is hard to surpass He’s now an important instructor In a college cheerleading class. Here ' s ALAN GAMBLE with crash helmet, And just in case you wondered, He ' s finished first today At the Indianapolis 500. If you ' re feeling ill someday Or maybe your children or your spouse; GARY MOORE or PAUL SINK will respond to the call: Is there a male nurse in the house? RUTH DAUGHERTY has a winning smile And carries a long, long list. She helps the guests select their rooms; You see, she ' s a hotel receptionist. ALAN MCCARTHY signs in now, And he ' s a business success, we find. But just what business is he in? Your guess is as good as mine! CAROL JOHNSON comes in now; She ' s a secretary - we can see. We wonder if she takes notes best On her boss’s knee! Our next guest is GARY BATES; His experiences are rare. You see he is a forest ranger And a friend of Smokey the Bear. EDITH GAMBLE took to the skies To realize her ambition; They say she is an airline stewardess. My! What a high position. DEAN FIELDS has come a long, long way; That ' s because his course is set. He joined the Air Force years ago; Now, he flies a sabre jet. A slim trim model enters now - My! But she looks smart. Oh, we see it ' s JUDY BELCHER; She always could play the part. Our next guest you’re sure to remember; Of much he has to boast. You know him as PRESTON EDSELL, The Boston Celtics Basketball coach. Here’s LORA CRAIN with brush and palette, With tarn and smock, she looks quite quaint. But it always has been her ambition To dabble in the paint. CARL EASTMAN owns a chicken farm; For him there is no match. He always has been quite an expert On counting chickens before they hatch. CATHY MOORE has traveled west; She always was a charmer. But now she’s doing the darndest thing; Living the life of a big, big Texas farmer. Signing in now is Mr. JAMES REMICH; We ' re glad he did arrive. We ' ve just learned that he ' s been awarded The Scientific Nobel Prize. It must be time for the commercial And this one is a treat. JUDY ANTISDEL brings the word To make our program complete. She tells of a cosmetic company It is the finest, she deems. Why, all you ladies surely use BEVERLY BRINK ' S Razzle Dazzle creams. With utmost pleasure we now present Our most distinguished guest - by fate It ' s GARY GREEN, rather portly now. The governor of our state. A lovely lady here appears; Why, it ' s DEBBIE HALE we find. She is teaching in a little school. Can she make the students mind? Big and brawny RONNIE HEBBARD Is doing rather well. He joined the Barnum Bailey Circus; His job is lifting dumb bells.
