MESSAGE TO GRADUATES You young people should feel fortunate and grateful because you grew up in a school district where the standards of your school set by the board of educa¬ tion, the administration, and the faculty have been of the quality and quantity that will enable you to compete successfully with the products of other secondary schools anywhere in the world. You have met those standards and, in many instances, surpassed them through your own efforts to learn more than the basic requirements. Probably at no time in the history of our nation has so much responsibility been left in the hands of our youth nor have so many things been expected of youth as right now. I feel confident that your experiences, socially and educa¬ tionally, while at Northeast have prepared you for entrance into your new status full of zeal and enthusiasm. I also feel confident thatyouwill meet the respon¬ sibilities and expectations of those older than you with the energy and force that only youth can provide. You have gone through the basic preparatory phase of your lives admirably. Both you and those who encouraged you or urged you on (parents and teachers) can be proud of your achievements.
