Northeast Accredited December 3 mfr 'J :cet D21 :mont I VOLUME IV, NUMBER 3 NORTHEAST STATE JUNIOR COLLEGE DECEMBER, 1969 ad It! According to an announcement by Dr. E. R. Knox on December 3, Northeast State junior College is now fully accredited by the Southe ern Association of Colleges and Schools. The admission of the college to membership in the South ern Association was announced at the Association's 74th annual meeting, held in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Knox states that credit is due to Dr. Ernest Stone, State Superintendent of Education, the Dr. E. administration, faculty, staff, and students of Northeast State junior College for the work they have done in meeting the standards of the accrediting agency. The edu cational program, financial supra port, the library, the physical plant, the qualifications of the faculty, their relationship to the students and with each other are among the standards which must be met in order to obtain membership in the Association. Knox: The acceptance of Northeast into full membership in the Southf ern Association of Colleges and Schools means that its credits will transfer to other colleges without question. The Governor of Alabama. the legislature, and the citizens of Alabama are to be commended in providing adequate facilities and financial support to enable Northa east junior College to achieve full membership in the Southern Asso ciation of Colleges and Schools.
