Thirty- nine sets of nerves were on edge as thirty-nine seniors in thirty-nine conventional dithers marched forward to receive their long-awaited diplomas. Five essays, two songs, the class prophecy and class will, the awarding of scholarships, and then . . . the long-awaited porchmen'r.' Sighs, tears, and a few uncon- cealed smiles . . . goodbyes and goodbye kisses . . . flashbulbs popping . . . and then it was all over.
