Debate Sponsors The Debate Club, under the leadership of Mr. James, promotes conscientious thought and expres¬ sion. To help interested students to become better speakers and debaters, a forensic workshop spon¬ sored by the Virginia High School League was held at Northampton. The Debate Club is dedicated to the principles of logical thinking and effective speech. Comprehension Proves V aluable The Literary Club of Northampton, sponsored by Mrs. Margaret Holland, analyzes and interprets good literature to promote better reading habits as well as creative writing. In addition to its lit¬ erary pursuits, the club also sponsors a car at Homecoming. Students Launch Home-made Rockets The Rocket Club of Northampton High School, sponsored by Mr. Philip Newton, promotes an interest in rocketry by having each student make and launch his own rocket.
