FOREIGN LANGUAGE UNDERSTANDING The Foreign Language Department offers students two years of Latin and three years of French. Through their study of a foreign language, stu¬ dents acquire a better understanding of the people, their language, and their customs. Dick Shannonhouse, Janey Nottingham, Laura Watson, Brigitte Hurtt, Jeff Davis, and Pat Tankard use tape recorder under Miss Jacob’s direction. Brigitte placed eighth out of one thousand two hundred and eighty contestants in the National French I Contest.
