A gold nugget was found in the Freshman class when we dug deep into our pockets and bought equipment after organizing an athletic committee. We also had the privilege of enjoying the second newspaper to be published in our school. This was called the ‘‘Campus Camera.’’ Hot ESE i $ 6 = = as ei, B) A vein was sighted when the Good Citizens Club for the first time EI allowed sophomores to be admitted to membership. For a bit of spice, we, E the 49’ers, hazed the Freshmen during the Y.S.O. initiation (Poor Rats! ) BE 4 3 BAB); He SS NENA ) ih 8 Qq es Next a strike was made when as Juniors, we participated in an operetta, a state debate, and a one-act play contest. But we had to take the bitter along with the sweet, and so we had for the first time, exams. Oh, that grind! The Student Council was organized during our senior year with the honor- able president, George James, chosen from none other than the class of 49. The usual privileges of all seniors--cards, rings, the prom, the Senior } play, the Baccalaureate Sermon, and class night will be remembered in the settling down of the 49’ers, 4 The best is yet to come. We are looking forward to our graduation . =| . Feeling proud in our caps and gowns, we will receive our hard earned gold mine (Diplomas.) Things to Remember: !
