GUIDANCE COMMITTEE The Guidance Committee STANDING: Mr. C, L. Brickhouse, Assistant Principal, Mr. J. A. Dent, Mrs. T. J. Thompson, and Mr. J. G. Collins. SEATED: Miss M. K. Helm, Mrs. A, W. Smith, Counselor, and Mrs. A. B. Brown. Youth continually face problems in understanding themselves and making deci¬ sions . On every side they are faced with increasingly complex social and economic patterns and widening occupational opportunities. Through the Guidance Committee and staff members the following services are available to all students: Individual Inventory, Informational, Counseling, Placement, and Follow-up. These services’should assist each student in knowing himself if as an individual and as a member of society; in making the most of his strengths and in correcting or compensating for his weakness that interfere with his progress; in learning about oc¬ cupations so that he may intelligently plan and prepare for a career; in learning about educational opportunities available to him; and in discovering and developing creative and leisure interest. For a successful guidance program, we ask for the continued co-operation from the home, the community, and the student. 7
