DEDICATION This issue of the Light¬ house is solemly dedicated to the memory of two of our class¬ mates, Horace Williams and George Garrison. We deeply regret that Horace and George are unable to grad¬ uate with us because of an auto¬ mobile accident which took their lives. In memory of them, we the members of the senior class of 1965 dedicate this annual. George Garrison and Horace Williams

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE GREETINGS TO THE SENIORS OF 1965 It is always an honor as well a source of great pride to commend each senior class for having reached this station in life where it can continue to perpetuate our Lighthouse. This is one organ of our school that has been shining and still shines for those who have been a part of its making. Those who have passed this way be¬ fore you wish to commend you for keeping up the tradition and for a job well done. There are many things that I could say to you as a group at this time, but they would only be a compilation of the things that we have been emphasizing for the past five years. I am well pleased with the progress that you have made to this point, and feel that you should be ready to take that first big step on a long journey of the life ahead. As you take this step let us remind you that you will encounter many problems that threaten to overwhelm our civilization, and these problems must be dealt with by you if we are to survive as human beings. There can hardly be any doubts in our minds as to the important role that you will play in our modern life; therefore, you must look upon this step with purpose and direction. The Northampton County High School Staff has been conscious of the fact that an education consists of far more than getting book knowledge. I hope that you have grown in the development of certain principles and traits which have universal import -- honesty, loyalty, truthfulness, kindness, tolerance, and an appreciation of moral values. The daily contacts with your teachers should be challenges in the right direction. We further would like for you to remember that problems can be solved when intelligent men and women can sit together, think, discuss and gradually make the correct approach that will ultimately yield solutions in abundance. You are certainly going to have to play some part -- great or small in the solution of the problems that confront your world of tomorrow. As we see it, life holds many successes for you so please accept my sincere and best wishes. W. H. Smith Principal 2
