SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In the year 1957, we the class of 1962 enrolled at Northampton County High School with a strong determination to further our secondary education. We were divided into five sections by our principal, Mr. W. H. Smith under the direction of Mrs. Green, Miss Logan, Mr. Adair, Mr. Cook and Mrs. Jones respectively. We were represented in our Homecoming activities by Alvanette Mendoza and Iris Downes. We were represented in our May Day Festivities by Audrey Wright, Alice Sample and Emily Sisco. In September 1958, we began the year as Freshmen under the supervision of Mr. F. Brickhouse, Mr. Busch, Mrs. Braxton and Mr. Cook. We were represented in our Home¬ coming activities by Rosie Beach, Evelyn Baines, Helen Harmon and Margaret Brisco. We were represented in our May Day Festivities by Lucy Tnompson, Shirley Satchell, Georgia Wynn and Burley Taylor. As Sophisticated Sophmores in 1959, we were under the guidance of Miss Turner, Mrs. Kornegay, Miss Barber and Mr. C. Brickhouse. We were represented in our Home¬ coming activities by Audrey Wright, Gloria Bell, Particia Taylor and Connie Upshur. We were represented in our May Day Festivities by Gladys Sample, Alice Sample, Christine Ames, and Shirley Mitchell. In the year 1960, we enrolled as energetic Juniors under the guidance of Mr, F. Brickhouse, Mrs. Collins and Mr. Adair. We were represented in our Homecoming activities by Audrey Wright, Brenda Morris and Helen Harmon. We were represented in our May Day Festivities by Gladys Sample, Mattie Rawlings and Corrine Smith. During this year a new method of electing candidates for May Day and Homecoming was initiated. Miss Mattie Rawlings of IIB was voted Queen of 1961. In 1961 we entered our last year at Northampton County High School as dignified Seniors with great enthusiasm toward finishing our secondary level of Education. We were divided into three sections 12A, B, and C, under the guidance of Mrs. Phifer, Mr. Busch and Mr. Kornegay respectively. We were very well represented in our Home¬ coming activities by Misses Audrey Wright, Helen Harmon, and Joyce Spady, We, the graduating class of 1962 are determined to achieve our goals, and strive to be successful in all our future endeavors. 23

O Lord help us, the Class of 1962 to meet the changing seasons, that we may march in rhythmic majesty with life ' s procession and in proud submission to our will towards the goal of our glorious destiny among the nations of the world. SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY In the age of spaceships, trips to the moon and hydrogen bombs, anything can happen. You may see the year 1972 today! Have a look! Charles Chick” Roane and Tyrone Beach are joint owners of the rocket fleet to Mars. Trips leave daily. Clara Upshur and Percell Nottingham who were married immediately after graduation announces the grand opening of Honeymoon Inn in one of the craters on the moon. Thomas Giddins is a smash hit in Iceland where the three top band musicians, Charles Sample, Milton Christian and Harrison Satchell also appear nightly. Charles Cabbage Matthews has finally lost on the new quiz show You Bet I ' m no Bachelor, it took him ten years, but Lucy Thompson finally won him as $64, 000 prize. Robert Satchell won the All American Male Physique award and Franklin Smith was chose runner-up. Margaret Brisco is the new Miss Perfect Form. Arthur Barnes is Dean of Men and Chester Ross Trower is president and founder of Hattie Collins ' School for Men. ' Barbara Powell and Albert Carter are county collectors for income tax. Minine Rowley and Milton Christian are co-owners of Nothing is Impossible But Beauty Shop. Marqueenia Adairs ' appearance in her song and dance act has won her four husbands and a gold space chariot. Big news in the medical world. Matthew Smith and William Poole have found the cure for corns, bunions and oversize feet. From Washington we hear that Howard Bailey and James Gunter have revo¬ lutionized the printing of currency by using monkeys . They pay them in peanuts . Leon Jacob, Herman Satchell and Flossie Elder leave Friday for Saturn to inspect the new homes built by William Treherne famous earth architect. Shirley Mitchell and James Bailey have discovered a pill to eliminate fly and mosquito breeding--Happy Summer Days! This makes Joyce Joyners ' lotion obsolete. Delores Carpenter and Hayward Rogers are millionaires who made a fortune writing short stories but none of them sell. Governor Walter Sample of Northampton County, Virginia has appointed Maeanne West to act as his chief adviser for 1972. James Dickens is the new priest at Westminister Abby. Brenda Morris, Jeanette Baines nuns of the Fun Order are his assistants. Burley Taylor is showing her latest dress style, Bare Nothing in Rome. The latest in beauty make-up Darling New Faces by Corrine Smith and Joyce Smith is now on sale. 24
