SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY As time marches on, let us march with it into the future. Be still! and you can see the members of the Class of “61” in their chosen professions. I see Tucker Spady and Charlie Starchia competing for the most valuable player on the Kenneth Reid Basketball team. Now I see that Shirley Richardson and Cleveland Smith are married and doing fine in their 32 room mansion. But guess who their servants are? Yes, they’re Deloris Foeman and Willie Crawford. Let us turn our attention towards Broadway. Playing at the Palace this week, is Moses Mapp, starring in “Mr. Wonderful”. This show is being produced and directed by the one time famous comedy team of Margaret Bray and Raleigh Upshur. Not so fortunate as these people is Rosa Powell. When Rosa Powell arrived in Hollywood to be a singer, she found the entire town deserted. It had gotten too hot there, due to the experiments conducted by the great scientists, James Williams and Melvin James. Here comes the President of the N.A.A.C.P., Margie Stevens, with her secretary, Viola Sample. They are on their way to Washington to make speeches on, “Are We Tired of Amos and Andy?” Bessie Burrows has opened a beauty salon. Her regular customers are: Ester Kates, Glora Wynder, Marva Stratton, James Moorefield, and Wilson Chandler, By the way, it is also a “Figure Control Salon”. Oh! Margaret Kaye Helm is now on the faculty of Northampton County High School, after turning down a job at our rival school in the next county. Sarah Rowley has also been hired as the secretary to the new principal, Mr. Leonard Spady, Jr, Ellen Goodwyn is now touring the state of Virginia making campaign speeches for her boss, Kiser Barnes, who is running for senator. Gloria Spady has employed the services of the great lawyer, Alfonso Walker to defend her. She is accused of eating doughnuts from Carrie Weeks’Doughnut Factory in Percellville, withou paying for them. Carrie’s detectives for the case are: Authur Ayers, Willie Johnson and Chief Otho Smith, Rudolph Custis is now an artist of great renown, with Isaiah Robinson as his assistant. His models are: Ruby Kellam, Margaret Roane, Betty Giddens and Martha Gulledge. The wealthy Mary Rowley, after marriage failure to Robert Mitchell, now makes frequent trips to Paris to have her nerves treated by Dr, Lummie Morris and Nurse Gloria Upshur. Wait! What is this we see? Elizabeth Lofland, a model for the Yellow Polka Dot Bikini Company, Also employed with the same company, is Regina Scarborough, Geraldine Boyd, and Louise Garrison. The company is owned by Caleb and John Collins. Jannie Patterson is now the head of a three room school. Her co-workers are, William Jackson and Beatrice Turner. The ex-football star, William Roselle, has retired to his Texas Cattle Ranch. His hired hands are: Elijah Williams, John Thomas and Floyd Kellam. The Famous musical duet, Carolyn Ayers and Thomas Sample, is touring the country with their manager, Dorothy Baines, Let us turn our attention to T.V. There is a new panel show on Channel 2,“Who’ll Smile Next”, starring Doretha Toyes, Delores Onley, Ernestine Jones, and Evelyn Satchell. Later that evening, you will be able to see Lawrence Satchell and Edward Satchell’s Farm Show. Martha Spady and Isaiah Wilson have finally reached the altar. Luvell James will perform the ceremony while Nancy Kenny sings, “O Promise Me”, The photographers, Alvis Rogers, Lorenza Thomas and Thomas Nottingham are on hand to take pictures of this event. Our smiling Used Car Dealers are: Leon Nock and Paul Townsend. They are ready to take your new car and give you an old one. You see, they need to see the eye doctor, Purnell Collins. We must stop now, for as time marches on, we grow tired and weary, and therefore, have to stop for rest. So, see you next year when we again search the unknown for the future professions of our classmates. Margaret K. Helm
