In the future, LoGuidice plans to attend Penn State majoring in the field of biology. Dave Gillette’s job has given him a sense of satisfaction. Charles Dischinat sports his beekeeping uniform and proud collection. For the past five years, Assistant Principal Charles Dischinat, along with a few other teachers in the school district. has been raising bee hives. A past biology teacher. Dischinat became interested through learning about bee keeping. His father, who had also kept bees, gave him some of his equipment. Presently, Dischinat has hives at three locations and sells almost five-hundred pounds of honey a year just by word of mouth. Honey has beneficial enzymes in it that arc very helpful to people, but can be lost if not processed properly,” said Dischinat. Dischinat strives to maintain these enzymes through the process. Interestingly. Dischinat is allergic to bee stings and has to be covered head to toe when in the presence of his hives. Nevertheless, these risks are what he takes for a hobby he enjoys greatly.
