Co-captain Troy Holub anxiously awaits to return the oncoming ball. Playing tennis at Northampton was the greatest experience of my life , said senior co-captain Troy Holub, who has been on the varsity tennis team for four years. Holub started playing tennis on his own about six years ago. Everyday Holub went to a nearby tennis court to hit tennis balls consecutively. Without taking tennis lessons or competing in tournaments. Holub was determined to capture the number one position on the high school tennis team, which he did his sophomore and senior year. The highlight of Holub’s season was beating Central Catholic's Greg Puruis. This win helped him to post a 5-6 record. As a result. Holub was awarded a trophy for being the outstanding senior member of the 1986 boys’ tennis team. Holub takes initiative Senior Dan McGillis prepares to hit a backhand shot.
