This is an honor given to a senior male each month for outstanding achievements, activity, character, leadership, and scholarship. The following were selected: Jim Nemeth-Septemben Eric Hoffman-Octoben Mark Murphy-Novemben Dave Fox-Decemben Ed Dionne-January; Dave Kravetz-Febru-aryi Dave Gillette-March; Brett Flimmelwright-April; John Toth-May. Mark Milisits received the Goodwin Lodge Award for be ing the most outstanding construction student at Bethlehem Vocational-Technical School. Milisits will be attendii;1 Williamsport College for two years. Girls of the Month are sponsored by the Professional Business Women. This is an honor given to a senior female each month for outstanding achievements, activity, character, leadership, and scholarship. The following were selected: Kaaren LoGiudice-September-. Diana Reinhard-October; Suzanne Lehr-November; Jennifer Visser-Decemben Pamela Lieb-January; Ann Reimer-February; Tammy Rinker-March; Denise Deppe-April; and Lynda Newhart-May. On May 21. 1986. the annual Varsity Sport Banquet was held in the senior high auditorium. Each individual coach presented an award to the team's most valuable player. The following were chosen as most valuable to their teams: Dana Fehnel and Pamela Lieb-Cheerleaders; Mike Perry-Boys Cross Country; Lynda Newhart-Girls’ Cro$» Country; Lori Biechy-Field Hockey; Mike Reinhard-Foot-ball; Johna Guttman-Girls’ Tennis; Dave Goldberg-Soccen Joe Kovalchik-Boys Basketball; Mary O’Brien-Girls Basketball; Ed Dionne-Boys’ Swim; Lydia Newhart-Girls' Swim Jeff Kaboly-Wrestling; Joe Kovalchik-Baseball; Lori Biechy-Softball; Troy Holub-Boys Tennis; Eric Hoffman-Boys Track; Tracey Micio-Girls’ Track. The Harold Schisler Memorial Trophy was awarded to Lydia and Lynda Newhart for being the senior girls who have earned letter awards in two or more sports and wl contributed greatly to the athletic program. Dan Reenock was the recipient of the Harold Schisler Memorial Trophy, presented to the senior boy who has earned a letter in two or more sports who contributed greatly to the athletic program. Mary O'Brien was the recipient of the Carole Weil Cou-rageous Student-Athlete Award, presented to the senior girl who has overcome adverse circumstances to achieve athletic and academic excellence. Lydia and Lynda Newhart and Eric Hoffman received the award for earning the most varsity letters throughout their high school athletic careers. The David Olson Memorial Award was presented to Ed ward Dione for making outstanding athletic contributions in two or more sports and achieving the highest scholastic average for three years. The Amptennian staff apologizes for the misplacement of Joseph Bulvich's picture which was accidently left out of the senior section of our yearbook. Jim Peters was awarded a four-year $2000 scholarship for being the most outstanding marketing student of the year. Peters was inducted into the Distributive Education flubs of America Hall of Fame for holding the position of vice-president of Pennsylvania. Peters also attended district competition to earn a second place finish in financing credit. In addition to his second place finish, he was named in Who’s Who Among American High School Students. In the future Peters plans to major in restaurant management. On April 29. 1986 the Rotary Club of Northampton honored 42 students who have obtained a grade point average of 3.6 over a three year period. The following students were honored: Theresa Csencsits. Alissa Yeager, Eric Zerphy. and Allan Ziegler. As we, the seniors, leave Northampton High School ready to conquer the world, we take these final moments to reflect on all the good times shared with friends. We would also like to take this opportunity to remember Kathy Frack, who was a member of the class of 1986. Frack, the daughter of Richard H. and Nancy J. Frack. was killed on Sunday, January 31. 1983. a victim of homicide. She was a really great girl who got along with everybody ' stated Frack’s closest friend, Stephanie Tallaksen. Tallaksen, who was like a sister to Frack, felt the pain as if she were a part of the family. When she died, a part of me died, lamented Tallaksen. Frack was described as a person who oved to be with people and liked school. Kathy always enjoyed school. stated Frack's mother, and she always had a good time when she was with friends, either in school or at home. The 14-year-old freshman kept herself busy working on art projects for school and reading. She was especially fond of music and writing. Kathy would always spend time alone writing. She even wrote a short story. She could have been a good writer. remarked Mrs. Frack. Frack’s only career ambition was to follow in her sister’s footsteps and become a model.
