ana' knowledge for his shield, FLORA OBRECHT, B.A., M.A. Girls Guidance Counselor No problem is ever too much for Mrs. Obrecht to hear or attempt solution, she has a sympathetic ear tor everyone. As such, she is sought out by girls and boys alike, and for all she has a helping hand. She also inter- views each girl personally and individually, the better to understand her and the better to prepare her for the future. Her pleasant, cheerful smile is a giveaway to her friendly disposition, this is invariably the right medicine to start curing any problem. PETER P. SCHNEIDER, Ph.B., M.A. A new member of the Guidance Department this year, Mr. Schneider has proven himself most successful in dealing with students and their problems. A giant of a man with heart to match, he has the gift of putting his youthful seekers at ease and anxious to respond. This quality also serves him in his capacity as advisor to the Student Council. Truth for his armor ALBERT M. LERCH, B.S., M.Ed. Director of Guidance and Activities Although he is one of the busiest persons in the school, Mr. Lerch always makes himself available to discuss any problem, whether it's vocational, education- al, or emotional, with any or all of us, and usually seems to come up with a solution. He has an unswerv- ing desire to guide young people toward the achieve- ment of their goals and to prepare them for their life's work. Scheduling assemblies, administering exams, and our problems keep him busy, but he's never too busy to be a friend. MRS. JANET SCHAADT 'X- Our very efficient, capable, and most accommodat- ing secretaries constitute one of our most important assets. ALFRED LAUBACH, Ph.B., M.A. Administrative Assistant The morning announcements, which Mr. Laubach makes, are invariably the harbinger of a hectic day for him, a day which takes him to iust about every nook and cranny of the school in the performance of an end- less series of tasks - endless in diversity as well as in number, and many far from being pleasant. You would expect successive days like this to sour the spirit of any principal's right-hand man, but that of Al, as he is af- fectionately known, is indestructible. His warm friend- ship and hearty laugh survive even the last period, and we love him.
