She lives out in the wilds of Justus and every day must sprint over two miles to Ischcol. We should be not at all surprised to see her riding in cn the family cow some morning. To all out- ward appearance, Peg is one of those quiet, reserved girls who takes her studies seriously. However in spite of pressing sccial functions she always manages to get her studies done.. Peg faces life in a happy mood and signif1es her happiness by Singterling, But we can't say as we blame her, for a song in the heart is worth two in the hymn-book. 7 if 5.5262 iam 135'-is -7 1-'-1'-l : K ' - tai--ii 1 - T ' X -,,.. -2. , . PHILIP WROE Phil Clarks Summit Basketball 1 Much learning doth make thee mad This may be aid of Phil but we shall always remember that red letter day when he received an A in Chemistry A1 though he towers above most of us he is far from high ha Wise witty and willing describes Phil excellently Waverly holds some magnetism for Phil but its diflicult to keep up with him because he believes in the motto Variety is the sp ce of life Tennis is Phlls hobby and we think he ought to take up professional tennis playing in the future DORIS JENKINS Doris Clarks Green Glee Club 1 2 Girl Reserves 1 2 Pageant 3 Oper etta 4 Doris is a good sport and an excellent student but Virgil seems to b her do In Its an awful thing to figure out anyway She is rather carefree but arent we all'J At iirst sight cne would think Doris to be a quiet little girl deeply interested in her work Later when We hear her giggle we are entirely d1s1llus1oned and find that fun is hor byword Doris seems to stand aloof from the boys of the class Perhaps she has an interest elsewhere Can we condemn her for that? WILLIAM MOONEY Bl Clarks Summit Glee Club 1 Hi Y 1 Washington Pageant 3 Me minus you equals nothing at all -thus saith Bill to Jack and Jack to Bill. And so say all of us. Bill is an agreeable chap with a heart of gold. He is always ready to lend a helping hand-and by the way just what would a certain flaming youth in the Senior class do without the Mooneys? We cant exactly say that Bill is athletically in- clined but his favorite sport seems to be tackling difficult tasks and you can be pretty sure that he will throw them for a loss. Bill is ambitious hardworking and able to take it and grin. If our good wishes mean anything he is bound to succeed. HELEN MOORE 'POUY Clark s Green Girl Reserves 1 2' Gleen Club 1 2 3' E.T.C. 4. Polly is the Senior lass with the curly blonde hair and a hoop-boop-e-doop that has no rival. Why dont you ask her to do it for you scmetlme? Life is just a bed of roses for Polly even thcugh the Les Miserables is undone. Why can't we all be light-hearted as she? Although she's so care-free and possesses such a sunny disposition she has her serious moment. She has hands especially built for hgliiing and never hesitates to loan them. Here's to you o y.' Well anyway Home IS looking forward to big things in life Hes planning on making the world safe for bigger and better business men More power to you Hofiie' RUTH JONES 'Ruthie Clarks Summit Girl Reserves 1 2 Glee Club 1 2 3 Operetta 1 3 Pageant 3 Hockey 4 etc 4 A leopard cannot change his spots In fact they re his for get me nots And did you ever see those cute little freckles? Ruth is rather a demure little girl but is always on hand when theres mischief about Physically Ruthie is the youngest in the class but in her case youth means intelligence Although Ruth has not been a participant in athletics she has b en an ardent sport enthusiast It seems that she loves dancing for shes never idle at any of the big affairs JOHN A MOONEY Jack Clarks Summit Operetta 4 Pageant 3 Hi Y 1 2 Glee Club 1 2 Jack or Bill' or Bill or Jack-which is it? Thats the question on most of our minds. Jack has belonged to the ambitious few during his High School days. Perhaps some day hell be manager of a Grand Union' or Pro of some Country Club. Jack has taken to dancing the last year or so and he appears very often at dances with a certain If-reshman. The twinkle in his blue eyes shows that he has some of that subtle Irish wit. Lets hear some Jack- dont b shy. VERA WILLIAMS Vera Clarks Summit E.T.C. 4' Glee Club 1 2 3 4' Girl Reserves 2' Athletic Council' Basketball l' Pageant 3' Musical Comedy 3 Shes merry shes jolly We like her by golly! Ever-dependable. happy-go-lucky and funny-thats Vera. What would e.t.c. meetings be without her? We cannot imagine. Loyalty is not sufficient to describe Veras attitude toward the Alma Mater. Always present at foot- ball gam-s dances and a record for eleven years perfect attendance should convince anyone. Studies are not her biggest worry as -they seem to be easy for her. Vera seems to have a big secret and we wish we knew it, but more power to her if she keeps it to herself! 8 I- . . J ll it 1 if '53 'D X 'S , , 404 . I lgi.
