U55 tcgfzazgfsz, YQ35 ELIZABETH SKELTON Commercial Activities-Play Usher: 3, Operetta: 2, 3, 4: Library Club: 45 Glee Club: 4. Here's one girl Whom we rather envy. It seems to us that Liz must stand in with the doctor in order to get all those notes explaining her absence. Skelly is the sort of a person who seems immensely fond of variety: one day she's in school and the next day she's out. But the minute she enters the room she is both seen and heard, but We don't mind that, Liz, 'cause it would be disastrous if you couldn't tell your friends all about the night before. SYBILLA SOLLENBERGER Commercial Acivities-Class Play: 3, 4: Operetta: 3, 4: Girl Reserves: l, 2, 3, 45 Glee Club: 4: Play Committee: 45 Frolic Com- mittee: 3, Class Color Committee: 1, Dramatic Club: 4. Did you know that the class of '35 has on its roster a very fussy old lady? This characteristic of Sybilla is only evident in the class plays, however, for during school Bee is always jolly and carefree. Another trait which surely doesn't characterize an old Woman is her tendency to keep a certain member of the basketball team, whois in training, out until the Wee.hours of the morning. Although Sybilla does not intend to further her education, we wish her suc- cess in future years. VELMA SUNDAY Commercial Activities-Operetta: 2, 3, 4, Office: 35 Librarian: 45 Spark- ler: 4, Glee Club: 4. Velma is one of the out-of-town girls. When skies are gray and school is dull, Velma is sure to brighten the day by saying something cheerful. Monday morning Sunday comes to school with a broad smile on her face. lf Velma is not studying at noon she is talking to her good friend, Helen, about that certain hero, I-larry. Velma hopes to be- come somebody's stenogf' We know she will succeed if Harry does not interfere. WILLIAM VALENTINE Commercial Activities-Basketball: l, 2, Bazaar Committee: 2, Play Poster Committee: 4, President of Booster Club: 4, Glee Club: 4, Operetta: 4. We now have the pleasure to introduce to you William Valentine. Bill is one of the jolly boys of our class. But then, the class is famous for them. William doesnft like to be teased about the opposite sex, especially the girls in the Sophomore class. Valentine has taken subjects in the com- mercial course and has succeeded in them. The class of '35 feels sure that he will reach his goal in whatever he under- takes. -c 24 j-

fjfis Swfzafzgfsz 7935 VINCENT ROHLER Commercial Activities-Basketball: 2, 3, 4, Soccer: l, Glee Club: 2, Class Play Ticket Committee: 3, 4. Vinnie is a curly-headed member of our class, nat- ural or unnatural, the curls are there just the same. He is one of those big Varsity He-Men, and will probably con- tinue his basketball career on the Alumni team. Vincent must have a secret heart or his seat would not be vacant so often and maybe he would do less whispering to the person in back of him in room 9. Whatever your destination in the future, Vincent, we wish you good luck and success, I OHN SAYLOR Classical Activities+President of Class: l, 2, Class Plays: 3, 4, Pres- ident of Science Club: 4, Business Manager of Sparkler: 4, Buiness Manager of Magazine Campaign: 4, Assistant Business Manager of Basketball: 3, Manager of Ath- letics: 4, Commencement Speaker. Come, ye curiosity seekers! Look upon the noble fea- tures of this rare specimen. This species is large in size and bright in intelligence, abounds in any climate, particularly in the scientific field. Ambitious is heartbroken over a cer- tain country girl. Their romance ended about a year ago. His circle of friends has increased since he has become manager of athletics. We know he will be a great scient- ist some day and we wish him much success. I OHN SHAFFER Classical Activities-Bazaar Committee: 2, Play Ticket and Poster Committee: 3, 4, Science Club: 4. lohn is probably the most timid boy in his class. Nev- ertheless, his timidness has not prevented him from concen- trating on his studies and activities. Iohn is particularly interested in subjects relating to mathematics and science. Shaffer has no time for the opposite sex, although he is sur- rounded with them in room 9. Iohn hasn't decided exactly what his future plans are, but whatever he chooses, the class of '35 knows that he will do Well. ROBERT SHELLY Commercial Activities-Baseball: 3, 4, Glee Club: 4, Bazaar Commit- tee: 2. Robert went to North York schools all his life. Bob is a very shy boy, nevertheless, his retiring nature permits him to show the teachers that he has his lessons prepared. Shelly displayed great interest in the commercial course throughout his high school career. Bob is one of the few who has little interest in the opposite sex. He is noted for his typing speed and his ability in baseball. -Q 23 Q-
