U55 Sflmgefz, 1935 DAVID KERNS General Activities--At Virginia: Basketball: 1, 2, 3. At North York: Basketball: 45 Vice President of Athletic Association: 4. Here comes the boy with the southern drawl and a truly southern smile. Dave comes from sunny Virginia and though he's been in North York since the summer of '34, his southern manner still adheres to him. Dave has be- come a hero of the basketball team. He shows no interest in the opposite sex at North York5 perhaps he hasva secret heart in Virginia. . IENNIE KNAUB Commercial Activities-Operetta: 35 Class Play Usher: 3, 45 Librarian: 45 Library Club: 4. lf you see a flash of someone passing in the hall or hurrying here and there-that's Iennie. Miss Burket finds her a willing helper when she needs a librarian. ln other words, we have here ulohnny on the spot. The class of '34 once claimed her but, due to her change in plans, she became a member of our graduating class. Her ambition is to be a missionary. Keep at it, Iennie, for where there's a will,4there's a way. WILLIAM KNAUB General Activities-Bazaar Committee, 25 Play Committee: 35 Vice President of Class: 45 President of Dramatic Club: 45 Class Play: 3, 45 Glee Club: 45 Operetta: 4. Another name for this brunette with the seasickening waves might well be magnet, since he has the tendency to draw all the members of the opposite sex toward him. William is greatly interested in scientific subjects, especially chemistry. Bill has had leading roles in our annual class productions and has continually kept the audience in an . uproar by his earnestness. Knaubie wishes to continue his education at a business school. HELEN KOCHENOUR Classical Activities-Class Secretary: l, 2, 3, 45 Operetta: l, 2, 45 Class Plays: 3, 45 School News: l, 2, 35 Editor of School News: 45 Sparkle-r: 2, 3, 45 Glee Club: 45 Girl Reserves: l, 2, 3, 45 Basketball: 2, 3, 45 Volley Ball: l, 2, 3, 45 Track: 2, 35 Dramatic Club: 45 Bazaar Committee: 25 Play Com- mittee: 35 Frolic Committee: 35 Ring Committee: 45 Cheer- ing Section: 45 Commencement Speaker. The best identifications of this young lassie are a mil- lion-dollar smile and two sparkling brown eyes. Helen is a very industrious student and would never think of entering a class Without having prepared her lessons. On the basket- ball floor, ferry dashes around like a flash of lightning and the team will be in a difficult position to find someone to replace her next year. You all nevah did see such a superstitious gal as that Melba in the Senior play. Helen will certainly fulfil her life work of nursing be- cause of her dependability, sincerity, and delightful per- sonality. - -4 21 5-

Hummel is active in all school sports and he has true sportsmanship, which is something to be proud of.
