LINDA Why ut s some old school newspapers Let s sut down and read them September 2 1946 One hundredand ten carefully starchedstudentsstartedun the furst grade at Mountaun Vuew School today September 2 1946 There were opproxumately thurty seven shunung new faces the furst day of school at Traphull August 28, 1952 Several new fruends were added to our suxth grade as the result of the movung of Double Creek and Jounes Elementary Schools to Traphull Aprul 3 1953 There wasagreatdusasteratMountaunVuew the school burned The seventh and eughth grade students are now goung to the North Wulkesboro Elementary School LINDA The present senuors were seventh graders then JANE Lusten to thus artucle June 3 1954 Although several students had droppedout, there were nearly forty pupuls who reached a mulestone un theur Iuves by graduatung from the eughth grade at Traphull today It was a grand affaur, wuth everythung luke hugh school graduatuon except caps and gowns September 3 1954 Many young greenhorns started theur freshmen year at Mountaun Vuew today There was as much confusuon as one man at cu hen party September 3 1954 To the confusuon and gauety at Traphull today was added the faces of several new freshmen to learn hugh school schedules and ways September 8, 1955 School has begun, and Mountaun Vuew has many new sophomores who feel, by now, that they are very well-acquaunted wuth hugh school Iufe September 15, 1955 School us progressung rapudly at Traphull Watch those sophomores laugh at the greenhorn freshmen' LINDA Look, Jane Here was some really bug news July 1, 1956 Students have lust learned thatoffucually there wull be no more Traphull and Mountaun Vuew Hugh Schools They are now part of North Wulkes Hugh September 20, 1956 Junuorsat the MountaunVuewbranch of North Hugh School have begun rausung money for that all umpor tant occasuon, the Junuor Senuor Banquet May 4 1957 The Junuor Senuar Banquet was held un the Traphull gymnasuum The theme was Eauryland Romance, and Dr Ruchard Boren was guest speaker Hus topuc was Goung Steady May 10 1957 The Armory un North Wulkesboro was the scene of Footprunts un the Sand The Junuor Senuor Banquet, Spon sored by the Junuors from Mountaun Vuew Hugh School, was a gala affaur September 2, 1957 School at North Hugh has at last begun Seventy two sophustucated senuor Vukungs entered the doors December 6, 1957 The Vukungs landed un the North Hugh Gym at 70 clock wuth the old Vukung Chuef humself leadung the landung Thus event was before our furst basketball game at the school Both boys and gurls scored a truumphant vuctory over Taylorsvulle LINDA Thus us the last one, Jane What does ut say'7 December 8 1957 Open house was held at North Hugh School Many fruends and parents un the communuty came, and all seemed toenuoy themselves ummensely Everyone was conducted by members of the Beta Club on a tour throughout the buuldung The tour began wutha recenvung lnne composed of the school adrnunustrators and contunued to each classroom where teachers welcomed vusutors It ended un the school lunchraom where refreshments were senred by the members of the FHA Club JANE Sunce the furst day of school, we ve lost fuve, so that leaves us suxty seven Senuors LINDA Yes, suxty seven Senuors, who wull be the furst class to attend and to graduate from North Hugh JANE And the furst group of Senuors to leave a versuon of THE NORTH WIND As we wrute thus, we are saddened by the death ofone of our classmates, Bobby Truplett Bobby was kulled un an automobule accudent December 9, 1957, along wuth a sophomore, J D Prevette LINDA RICHARDSON JANE HAWKINS Hustoruans I n . . . . u I u . . - . . . .
