The royal court members fcourtj wait to try a number again - striving for perfection. Once Upon Putting a musical together is ajoint effort of many people. Each individual in a lead role must be carefully trained in speaking, singing, and acting. This yearls production involved the vocal music department, the instrumental music department, and the drama club. In dress rehearsal, Bob Garwood and Jeanette Pederson pass gracefully through the ballet se- quence. Unfortunately, a little fast movement blurred the picture. Diane Hendress and Joy Copeland, ladies of the court, attempt to reactions to a funny remark of the Queen. 54 A Mattress On these pages we've tried to record what goes into the making ofa show. The public performances give little hint ofsuch scenes as appear here. Veddie Clemans as the Queen and Greg Clemans as the Prince rehearse one of their mother - son talk scenes. 55 Claudia Lemon is caught looking up from her homework to see ifthe next orchestra cue is close. Diane McKinley and Elaine Rohwedder display their make- up for the black- lighted ballet scene. In the meantime, the orchestra waits for their next cue, CCoke breaks help a lotl. Deb Banes counts measures to her next cue. Mr Clevenger is pictured relaxing a bit and clowning with the skeleton of the Prince's pet dragon with Donna Westfall and Debbie Nelson. Deb performed and sang the lead role ofthe princess in the show. Still further behind the scenes, several people are responsible for putting together the whole show. Mrs. Hardesty, caught off guard above, spends hours teaching the vocal music portion of the show, then spends more hours directing and creating the cos- tumes for the show. Show co-ordinator and orchestra director Mr. Gorden Qfacing cameray discusses the musical with drama director Mr. Clevenger. Once Upon A 56 Beth Ryan halts in rehearsal to share a happy moment with the camera. orth White Stage Rich Fehrenbacher, .lim Westerhouse, and Mike Lawson are shown in a scene. Most people will re- member the show as it was seen on March 23, 24, 25. To those who were there, memories consist of many happenings. The hours of work, the laughter, the joy ofworking together and even, perhaps - those many musical meals for which only a fast coke was a substitute. . . . but the lUfe ofa school is in daily events . . . Student Council The l97l-72 edition of Student Council demonstrated leadership in many areas. Meeting for a full hour each week, the Council sponsored many convocations such as The Irish Duo and Boone Family. The Council also held several dances. The installation of candy and soft drink machines was a Council action. Led very eapably by Jeff Keplar as President, the Council this year earned new respect from the students and faculty.
