I 7 2 TKeinoriam These were President Kennedy’s last official words -the conclusion of the speech he was to have delivered in Dallas. ‘‘America today is stronger than ever before. Our adversaries have not abandoned their ambitions - our dangers have not diminished - our vigilance cannot be relaxed. But now we have the military, the scientific and the economic strength to do whatever must be done for the preservation and promotion of freedom. That strength will never be used in pursuit of aggressive ambitions - it will always be used in pursuit of peace. It will never be used to promote provocations - it will always be used to promote the peaceful settlement of disputes. We in this country, in this generation, are - by destiny rather than choice - the watchmen on the walls of world freedom. We ask, therefore, that we may be worthy of our power and responsibility - that we may exercise our strength with wisdom and restraint - and that we may achieve in our time and for all time the ancient vision of peace on earth, good will toward men. That must always be our goal - and the righteousness of our cause must always underlie our strength. For as was written long ago: Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. Oecfication The Senior Class of 1964 respectfully dedicates the ensuing pages to our worthy friend, adviser, and patron, Mr. Paul Royer. We feel that the memories of his friendly help and advice will play an important part in our future lives. For the past years, Mr. Royer has served as a patron of the Senior Class of North Webster High School. In this capacity he has been called upon to assist with social activities, and to work on all class projects. In carrying out these duties, he has shown a willingness to give his best and has influenced us greatly. He has made our last year in high school a happy one by his congenial greeting, his cheerful philosophy, and his cooperation with the individuals. His ever-ready assistance for the slightest need of each student has been deeply appreciated. It is with deep love and gratitude that we proudly dedicate this 1964 Troy to Mr. Paul Royer. 5 JJrincipciJ MR. WENDELL BRYANT Mr. Bryant joined our faculty as principal last year, coming to us from Clay-pool High School. Let us commend him for the smoothness with which he has executed his exhausting duties. Let us thank him for his guidance and understanding and let us salute him for a job well done. ZJice Principal MR. FLOYD BAKER Mr. Baker has donated many hours of his time in the past years to his students at North Webster. He is dear in the hearts of innumerable graduates that passed the school doors. We, the students of 1964, are no different. We would like to express our appreciation to Mr. Baker for his dedication. 6 7 FLOYD BAKER Social Studies Vice-Principal PAUL ROYER Science Mathematics BILL KITSON Science Mathematics JEANETTE HARVUOT English Speech SHERRILL PLUMMER English CHARLES McCLURE Social Studies ROBERT YODER Spanish S JOY WARNER Art Dramatics Coach Guidance Counselor JAMES KLINE MARY MISCH Industrial Arts Physical Education 9 RICHARD KELLY English JAMES TURNER Band Choir JOAN SHARP Librarian SARAH PERRY Home Economics DON BUTTS MARION LANTZ MAX BAILEY RALPH BUSHONG Physical Education Mathematics Business Education Grade 6 Business Education Business Education Jr. High Coach Basketball Coach Track Coach Baseball Coach Assistant Basketball Coach JEAN REASONER Grade 3 and 4 DORIS BRAITHWAITE Music ELMIRA TURNER Grade 2 10 CARL KISER Grade 5 RUTH GUNTER Grade 4 KATHRINE McCLURE Grade 3 GLADYS CULVER Grade 2 LOIS ROYER Grade. 1 MARY NINE Grade 1 MARY HOWARD and MAXINE YODER Not Shown SCHOOL SECRETARIES Mrs. Greiner Mrs. Ganger CUSTODIANS Mr. and Mrs. Reiff RECEPTIONISTS Sally Clayton, Diane Bisig, Terry Larsen, Melody Shock, Suzy Long, Becky Wiseman.
