Text from Pages 1 - 96 of the 1962 volume:

We dedicate this annual to you, Mr. Bryant. As we think back we can remember you as our counselor, advising us which course to take; our moderator, helping us solve our difficulties; and as our friend who has been with us during the years of our adolescence until we have become young adults. We appreciate your patience and consideration for they will never be forgotten. IN APPRECIATION In appreciation for all the time and co-operation Mr. Toll has given the Class of 1962. 2 GAYLORD N. It is our hope that in years to come we can share the same virtues with others that you shared with us. The class of 62 wishes to express their sincere thanks to a fine group of people who have helped us many, many times. It has been our privilege to work, study, and play under your direction. Through these activities we have learned to know and genuinely appreciate you. 6 Mrs. Griener—Office Girl Left to right Mrs. Stoner, Mrs. Ganger, Mrs. Mock, Mrs. Metcalf, Mrs. VanCuren--Cooks. s T A F F 7 SENIORS ROBERT L. The place is the Foggy Club which is owned and operated by Ed Enyeart. It is located one block east of the funeral home. As you drive by the funeral home you will notice a sign reading, Hartup's Speedy Service. We were met at the door by the hostess, Miss Sharon Hudson, who is now the head twist instructor for the club. The first guest to arrive is Linda Miller who recently became the wife of a very wealthy mink rancher. A thunderous roar is heard as Frank Hubbart, now president of Hubbart-Davison Motorcycle Company, comes skidding in on his new seven-cylinder model 300. As we enter the kitchen we find that world famous chef, homemaker of the year, Miss Billie H. Harris. Her able assistant is Miss Karleen Richards who is world famous for her mumblebug salad. As we enter the bar we find Dave Carey sipping a martini with a silver spoon. As we glance around the room we find that Marvin Coy is still at it. He is working behind the bar in his same old black and white pin stripe suit. After our eyes have adjusted to the dim light we see Bob Roose and his wife Jane sitting together in a secluded comer sipping mud cocktails. The floor show is about to begin starring the one and only Miss Sherry Wolf commonly known as the VIP Girl. What's Vip? Now the spotlight switches to swinging Jimmy Wolfe whose last record Don't Bug Me Man, sold a million copies. An announcement, is now being made by that world famous announcer Larry Harvey. He is telling us all to go outside, as we step into the brisk air we look up. We see a dim glow whirling around the earth, it's Colonel Dobbins and his runaway C.A.P. Jet. Off in the brush we see what appears to be a flashlight, which turns out to be Tom Davis and Jill Sullivan, hunting for night crawlers. Across the street we see the neon light of Hinesley and Weaver, Steam Heating. Cruising slowly around the comer is Marvin Whitacre and Ted Reynolds in their twin go-karts. They just passed Woody Hair's Barber Shop. Just down the road we see the lights from Teghtmeyer's Big Ball Bowling Club. As we look skyward again, we see a blinding flash as Donna Shaw streaks overhead, it seems she has been kicked out of the mule bam again. Up pulls a 1950 black chevy Limousine driven by Ronald Gillum. He opens the door of the Limousine and out steps the famous band director Kenny Jernigan. We now go inside to the gambling casino, the first thing we see is a blinding shuffle of cards, as the world's shortest gambler slewfoots in, it's Miss Maverick Pearl. At the left of the card tables we see a great confusion, as Steven Wright enters with the dessert, (Rice Pudding) we see that the pudding is measured by Ronald Boyer, (it has to be four inches, that is, of rice). The books with the rice measurements are kept by Sandy Eaton. Sitting in the middle of the room on a stool is the famous comedian, and life of the party, Thomas Hill. A tremendous roar is heard as the ceiling gives way above the casino, and in drops the attic dwellers, Brenda Wilcoxson and Peggy Huffman. As for myself I am now manufacturing ice fishing houses featuring pool tables. Basketball, history, North Webster, absentee slips, psychology, my son Barry, panels, tickets to the test, movies, maps, daily newspapers, workbooks, and Mrs. B, they're all a part of you and room 112. Through the years you have watched us as floundering eighth graders, studious sophomores, and dignified seniors. When we had a problem we knew we could come to you—for your advice was that of a friend. You have helped us immeasurably in making the journey from adolescence to adulthood. Mr. Baker, for your friendship we the Class of 1962, thank you. 40 41 COACH BAKER The Trojans are backed to the fullest extent by Mr. Baker or Bake. Mr. Baker has joined with Coach Butts to make a team of excellent coaches. Bake has long been a friend to all boys. His friendship and guidance have always been a very important part of North Webster School. COACH BUTTS Coach Don Butts came to North Webster six years ago following his graduation from Manchester College. With him came talents that have kept our athletic clubs high in county ratings these past years. Mr. Butts, your dedication to our schools' athletic program is most appreciated. Karon: (still more tired) I gave it to you. Sharon: No you didn't, see there is room for another half page. Karon: Sharon! Sharon: What! Karon: (incredibly) We have a whole half page left!! Sharon: Oh no! We can't! If we do it's your fault. Karon: (angrily) My fault! It's no more my fault than yours. Co-editors means together which means we both made a mistake. Sharon: (brightening) I know let's blame Jill, as chairman of the advertising committee she should have sold another half page. Karon: She did, only the picture didn't turn out so we couldn't use it. Sharon: (dejected) Oh, What can we put here? Karon: (with glee) Ron Boyer has some good.pictures! Sharon: Yeah, I know but maybe we better not use those. Karon do you think this annual will be any good? Karon: I doubt it, but it sure would be nice if it would. Sharon (jokingly) It would have been if you hadn't goofed and left this half page blank. Karon: (not joking) Sharon! Think of something to put on here. AUTOGRAPHS 88 ■
