NORTH WEBSTER HIGH SCHOOL INDIANA DEDICATION Mr. Kline has taken a sincere interest in each of our needs and problems. His enthusiasm on a project is contagious and we cannot help but feel the same excitement that he generates. He has made a deep impression on each of us that has taught us to set our goals high and have the courage to stick by them. To this fine person we wish to dedicate the 1961 Troy. IN APPRECIATION I wish to commend the graduating Class of '61 for standards of excellence in scholarship and conduct as demonstrated by students in this class. The motto Working for a World Today and a Universe Tomorrow is indicative of the purposeful way in which members of the class have undertaken their high school education. I am sure I am expressing the thoughts of all your teachers here at North Webster School, when I say, Our best wishes and kindest thoughts go with you as you plan and work for that universe of tomorrow. It is our hope that our mutual regard for each other will continue to grow after graduation and that adult experiences will strengthen our bonds of friendship. Robert L. AWARDS COACH BUTTS After graduation from Manchester College in 1956, where he lettered four years in basketball, setting every scoring record at the college, he came to North Webster. During the four years here, his Trojan teams have compiled a very impressive record of 73 wins and 23 losses. Tourney finals seem to be a jinx, as he has been in five with the Trojans and is yet to be victorious. Last season was his most successful - his team won 21 and lost 4. Coach Butts has a genuine interest in boys, and he works continuously to give North Webster a good athletic program. Don is 27 years old, married, and the father of two children, Jeff and Jane. FLOYD BAKER Coach Butts is very ably assisted by Floyd Baker. Bake” has been in this role at Webster for 12 years. Prior to that he did head coaching for 25 years, notably at Martinsferry, Ohio; Bridgeport, Ohio; and Richmond, Indiana. He won the 1941 Class AA high school championship in Ohio. You could say that he has been to the top of the ladder in the coaching ranks. Two outstanding athletes that were under his tutelage were Alex and Lou Groza, both of whom went on from high school to win fame in the athletic world. Coach Baker once had the title of Mr. Basketball among the coaching profession in Ohio. He is currently a member of the IHSAA Council. Mr. Baker is an experienced and respected part of North Webster School.
