CLASS PROPHECY The year is 1980, and the occasion is the twentieth reunion of the class of 1960, North Webster High School. The setting is the famous Italian night spot The Malta Club owned by our former classmate DANIEL IANAGNILIO. Entertainment is furnished by GAYNOL LA RUE doing her famous bubble-dance and singing by the Songbird of Shoe Lake LINDA POPENFOOSE doing her popular number Snap Gum Blues. Here are two celebrated authors of our class; TOM WHITE recently wrote, HOW I BROKE RIP VAN WINKLE’S RECORD and GARY CULVER wrote HOW I'M GONNA TAKE IT WITH ME. Now here are some of our happily 20 year married couples: JUDY HAMMAN and husband, SANDY BURNS and husband. SHIRLEY REESE and husband, JERILYN RICHCREEK and husband, GLENDA PENROD and husband, and of course their charming children. And here is the Dr. WILLIAM Jeckle BECHTOLD who recently developed a method of birth control for abominable snowmen. At this time we must mention Professor TERRY V. BAUGHN who unfortunately could not be here. TERRY for some reason was still in a rocket when it blasted off. Among our classmates we have two wealthy industrialists, RICHARD DAVIS producer of the blam, blam Muffler, world's loudest and DOUGLAS METCALF manufacturer of pegged green jeans. And here comes the law, Marshall BILL SHOEMAKER currently heading a program to combat juvenile delinquency. WALTER CORBIN and DENNIS HUFFMAN are here from their homes in California where they own a custom shop. Some of our classmates are back in school: RONALD TAYLOR, head basketball coach, ILENE KLINE, Home Economics teacher, MARY GRIM teaches first grade, JANET TRESTRAIL, the new history teacher. BARB LOCKE is teaching girls' physical education and PAT DOYLE teaches boys' physical education. PAUL CARSON served his Navy hitch and is back running the projector. MARGARET DROKE has a beauty shop in town and JENNY STREBY is her able assistant. Next door is Connie’s Dance Studio owned and operated by CONNIE GRUBBS whose specialty is teaching the horse. KAREN LEW ALLEN has taken over her father's job in the sawmill. JUDY CUMMINGS is secretary at Cummins Diesel. SANDRA KROLL has established herself as the world's mightiest woman weightlifter. DAVE WRIGHT has taken Duncan Hine's position as the world's greatest food critic and STEVE WHITE has just roared up in his Crystal Flash powered Chrysler 300 F (with Chevy engine) which he won the Mexican road race with. As for JIM GULLETT and JON SROUFE, JIM as a lawyer has finally made his mark with the bar association; he is bartender at the local tavern. JON is a local color man well known president and able leader of N. A. A.C.P. And so with the evening coming to an end we hope you have enjoyed our class's 20th reunion.
