Second in the World! In May '84, the Mind Olympics team from North Warren proved its of Q ability at world competition in Akron, Ohio. Earlier in the year the Chariots of Rescue team had won first place at regional competition in West Milford. This then qualified them for state competition at Glassboro State College where they also placed first in their division. Their next stop would be world competition where the team lconsisting of Dave Barnes, Neil Hamilton, Vince Mazzei, Frank Seesink, Dan Novi, John Repasky, Gale Treible, and Elleke Seesinkl would represent the state of New Jersey. The competition was among 29 states and 2 provinces of Canada. Against very strong competition, North Warren placed 2nd in the world. In addition to individual medals and a trophy for the school, the team received a letter of congratulation from Governor Kean. The team would like to thank Mr. DeHaven for being a fantastic coach and Mrs. Brownell for being a terrific chaperone. At States, Frank Seesink lRalph Ruggedl and Neil Hamilton lCoward So-swelll received the Renatra Fusca award for their originality and creativity. XF '--4 .sc offs'- -'Y to Coward films Ralph rescuing an ABC news vehicle from a drop in the Nielson ratings. QW' Ralph Rugged reaches for a skier in distress as Coward So-swell and Dave Daring report on the accident . The first place team at Regional and State competition consisted of Dave Barnes, Frank Seesink, Neil Hamilton, Vince Mazzei, and Dan Novi.
