PHHEHTS HHH FRIENDS We bid you welcome on this happy oc- casion for we are glad to have you share with us the unforgettable .Toy of the Com- mencement Season. The scholastic efforts onthe part of the students are climaxed by graduation, however, the. students' efforts are not the only ones reflected in this ex- ercise. To you parents we wish to extend our sincerest thanks and appreciation for your never ending encouragement at the times it was most needed. We are humbled by the thought of the struggles and self sac- rificesyou have made for us. Only through your persistence, courage and vision we have been able to reach this first pinacle of success in our endeavors to acquire perfection. Throughoutthe complete course of our studies the faculty have given of their time, energy and knowledge that we mightbe- come more enlightened and useful citizens. We are the generation of the Atomic age whowillenjoy inventions, discoveries and developments unknown as yet to man. No doubt some of us will help contribute to these. Without your capable guidance we could never attain such heights. There is not a member of this class, I am sure, but what feels a munber of dif- ferent satisfactions in the earning of a dip- loma from this honored institution. One of the greatest of these satisfactions is your approval of what we have accomplished and your expectation of what we may still ac- hieve in the future. Your confidence in us is an inspirationwhich willgo with us from this time forth. The spiritual guidance which we have received and, let's hope at least partially absorbed, from the churches of our little community, has given us faith and moral courage without which no life could be com- plete. This guidance together with the as- sociates of our own age and interests have played no minor part in the molding of our lives.Miay the models formed by these in- fluences serve as a pattern upon which we shall base our future contacts. May they ever lead us onward toward higher and nobler ideas and ideals. And we trust that withthe march ofyears your own lives and ours willcontinue tobe more and more a- bundant in the best things available. So it is with grateful hearts that we, the SeniorClass of 1950, again say Welcome, Parents and Friends, Welcome here to- night. Jennie Kincheloe Salutatorian ll
