and tenth grade students who are 16 years old or older may be considered for any of the two year programs in which openings exist following the enrollment of eleventh graders. Before selecting a course, these students should be certain they ossess the math, science and English ackgrounds required for success in the course. TRI-RIVERS JVS Students should gain practical marketable skills, positive attitudes toward work, an understanding of the economies of the world of work, desirable social and citizenship attitudes, experience in work situations, human relations skills. 27

Directory Tri-Rivers Joint Vocational School The Tri-Rivers Joint Vocational School should be considered an extension or annex of each of the participating schools. Therefore, the purpose of Tri-Rivers is to supplement the course offerings of the participating schools with many useful and interesting vocational courses for both the high 26 school students and the adults of the district. Tri-Rivers JVS was primarily established to provide high school students, of all ability levels, the opportunity to select from a wide variety of vocational courses. These courses are for students who want, need, and can profit from vocational education. The courses are designed for eleventh and twelfth graders. However, ninth

Graduates should be prepared to enter full time employment, enter college or technical school, qualify for a variety of apprenticeship opportunities, seek self-employment, seek military or civil service opportunities. Students enrolled at Tri-Rivers graduate from their own home high school, since Tri-Rivers is an extension of the participating schools, and not a separate school.
