We received much praise for our academic achievements. We had four money making projects which were all a great success due to the large support of our classmates and parents. Through our achievements and responsibilities, we now believe that the class of “75” is now ready to tackle our future high school years. 38 Maureen Albert Don Ballinger Tamera Ballinger Roxanna Besst Edwin Bibler i John Breidenbach Joyce Brill Donald Brown Debra Buckland Anita Clapsaddle Thomas Coder Danny Combs Karen Cooperider 39 Leo Cox Randy Crabtree Bruce Davis Pam DeVore Cathy Erwin Fred Erwin Donna Evans 3BM09 hbstadrhovte fiESmiO Paul Fickle Lynn Fields Larry Fillinger Judith Fown Robert Foley Joyce Frasure Becky Fridley Charlotte Gilliam Dick George Candy Goddard Deborah Gray Beth Griffith 40 Vivian Hamilton Bonnie Kathryn Hancock Hendrickson Gary Hendrickson Peggy Hendrickson Terry Hendrickson Dale Inskeep Bobby Johnson Jim Jolliff Kim Jolliff John Juzwiak Joyce Kemp Terry Higginbotham Mildred Hitt Miriam Hitt Jeffrey Hixson Timothy Holcomb Carl Huckaba 41 Theresa Kinikin Sheila Kirby Janet Kreamer Jill Lauphrey Michelle LaValley Joyce Leibold Barbara LeMaster Marla Manville Stanley Marvin Patricia Matteson Deidre Maugans Jerry Mayberry Terry Mayberry Lisa Mayes Joseph McCarthy Tracy McCloud Billy McComas Jeffrey McElroy 42 Ricky McElroy Dennis Meadows Gary Meadows Sue Meddles Aaron Michel Joseph Moyer Kimerly Neel Mary Lu Norris Randy Organ Ricky Organ Deborah Pettrej Terri Poland Joe Morone Marcia Mount 43 R. Treasurer As the Sophomore Class of this year, we have come on strong. For our class projects, we have had two bake sales so far. They turned out to be very successful. We are planning a few more projects before the year is over. We might try our hand at a car wash. Last year we were new at N.U.H.S., but we have come up well this year. We have participated well in sports and school activities. We may not be sitting on top, but for underclassmen we are great. We feel the class of “74” is super great and we are hoping to continue our good work in the years ahead. 48 Janice Amrine Clara Arbogast Patty Belcher Bev Boggs Joe Bialecki Joann Bradley Barb Braun Dwight Brill Bev Brown Brian Bumgarner David Chaffin Mary Ann Charles Debbie Clevenger Ronnie Combs Diane Coons Deb Cox Tanya Crist Carla Cudd Bill Daniel Kathy Davis Lisa Davis Mary Ehret Tim Eibling Chester Evans Ty Davis Darcy Devers Kim Dowler Jeff Evans Do.ug Farrington Alyce Foreman Rick Fryman Jim Furer Kathy Gibson Don Harris Greg Haughn Tina Henderson Gary Goddard Jim Gray Kevin Hamilton Tom Hicks Dallas Jackson Kathy James I Joni Jerew Kevin Jerew Bill Jolliff Faith Laughrey Doris Lester Steve Lewis Jane Jolliff Kathy Jolliff Lee Jorden Kent Lindsey Bill Lowery Bruce Mannasmith Greg Kerns Geof Kersey Brenda Laughorn Vicky Marvin Keith Maugans Chip McCloud Len McComas Terry McCoy Diane McElroy Linda Moffett Mike Morse Sherry Nibert John Mead Debbie Myers Wayne Miller Chuck Nickels Jim Oman Teresa Perkins Kathy Pfeiffer Marvin Phipps Karen Reese Dick Ridgeway Larry Price Charlie Ransome Eric Stimmel Shirley Rinehart Rick Ross Lody Taylor Vicki Sehlhorst Terry Setser Bill Temple Mary Temple Kathy Sheets Pam Smith Melissa Tevis April Thogmartin Chris Ransome Becky Redmond Bob Ruebeck Steve Sanderson Tom Schmelzer Teri Searles Brian Styer Kelly Swartz Bob Swihart Gary Taylor Bob Tosco Bruce Waters Connie Webb Marc Wedding Don Welch Lou Ann Welsh Brenda Wibley Bill Williams Jeff Wills Dena Winkle Ramona Winkle Lynn Woodruff Gary Wurtsbaugh Dick Wygal Camera Shy Jeff Aills Rick Boggs Bill Reese Jim Reese Lee Starks Doug Bracy Marvin Vincent Pam Tanner Blanchard Moore 53 Juniors Junior Class Officers Marcia Hamilton Secretary Bruce Morgan Jeff McElroy Student Council Vice-President Dave Pheifer President It seems that the Juniors are always the most actively involved in student activities, and the class of ’73 was no exception. We began the year, as always, with a booster bar candy sale--the best yet. (not ‘‘as always”) Basketball season found the Juniors behind the concession stand, spilling coke and smashing toes. As spring drew near, prom details kept the class pretty well occupied. Now I suppose I could write about how great we are and how there’ll never be another class as fantastic as ours; but since this paragraph is only going to be one sentence long anyway, we’ll just say, “Junior Class Supremacy--Now and forever.” 56 Bruce Baker Mike Barron Rick Beckley Bob Beightler Chris Blain Bob Blue Carol Brill Carl Butz Melodie Chapman Chip Clark Russell Combs Brad Conrad Jerry Dowler Tonda Drum Dan Duncan Linda Earhart Valerie Eastman Chuck Ehret Sally Ehret Chester Evans Roger Ferguson Rick Fletcher Rick Foley Terry Frye Alice Goodwin Ron Gray Jim Gruber Tom Gwynn Marcia Hamilton Beth Harrison Mike Hartley Vera Hendrickson Kauana Hickok Joe Howald Vicki Jones Phil Kavanaugh Karen Laughorn Tim Livingston Laura Lookabaugh Bill Lowe Greg McElroy Jeff McElroy Janet McKnight Beverly McMahon Peg Marvin Brad Meadows I can't believe I typed the whole thing. Victory on the athletic field comes only when a fair amount of intan- gibles such as hustle, poise, dedication, desire, and ability are supplied by each player into a pot called team. The 7-2 record of the “71” Wildcats gives evidence that indeed these ingredients were present. Each player knows to what degree his ability was tested, what sacrifices were made, and to what heights and depths his dedication and desire was buffeted. In years to come these pages will bring pleas - ant memories and rightly so. Congratulations to the “71” Wildcats. Two fourth quarter touchdowns by the Wild- cats sent the Monarchs home in defeat in the first home game of the season. With a 22-0 win over the Gophers, the Wildcat record was 2-0. In their first conference game, North Union routed the Scotties, 20- 0. In their third shut-out of the season, the Wildcats defense sparkled against the B.V. Barons. The Wildcats were the leaders in the conference with a 50-6 win over the Pirates. With a key conference win over Northmor behind them, the Wildcats were ready to meet the Indians in their home- coming game. The Wildcats suffered their first loss at the hands of Mt. Gilead. The Wildcats racked up the seventh defeat of the season, five of which were shut-outs, with the 20-0 win over the Eagles. The Wildcats ended their season on a snow- covered field with a defeat by the Fighting Irish despite a late second half Wildcat surge p Belcher, N. Cunningham, B. Shane, B. McMahon, L. Davis Norton’s Kandies Those Were The Days ONCE UPON A TIME THERE WAS A HIGH SCHOOL WHERE WE USED TO RAISE A CHEER OR TWO. REMEMBER HOW WE LAUGHED AWAY THE HOURS; THINK OF ALL THE GREAT THINGS WE WOULD DO. THEN THE BUSY YEARS WENT RUSHING BY US; WE LOST OUR STARRY NOTIONS ON THE WAY. IF BY CHANCE I’D SEE YOU IN THE FUTURE, WE’D SMILE AT ONE ANOTHER AND WE’D SAY . . . JUST TONIGHT I STOOD BEFORE THE HIGH SCHOOL. NOTHING SEEMED THE WAY IT USED TO BE. IN THE GLASS I SAW A STRANGE REFLECTION. WAS THAT LONELY STRANGER REALLY ME? THROUGH THE DOOR THERE CAME FAMILIAR VOICES; I SAW YOUR FACE AND HEARD YOU CALL MY NAME. THOUGH MY FRIENDS WE’RE OLDER BUT NO WISER, FOR IN OUR HEARTS THE DREAMS ARE STILL THE SAME. THOSE WERE THE DAYS MY FRIENDS WE THOUGHT THEY’D NEVER END WE’D SING AND DANCE FOREVER AND A DAY WE’D LIVE THE LIFE WE CHOSE WE’D FIGHT AND NEVER LOSE 161 FOR WE WERE YOUNG AND SURE TO HAVE OUR WAY.
