X X K CLASS HISTORY Four years have passed and gone s1nce the class of 1943 entered the Hxgh School These years have been crowded wlth lmportant events oy sorrow vrctory and defeat all played an Important part m determmmg our present suc cuss We entered the Hlgh School as Freshmen ln the fall of 1939 as a group of proud and ambltxous boys and girls One of the hxghlrghts of this year was a Class party held ln the school audxtorrum We held an electron of of fncers and elected Mark Carls Presldent Betty Ansbach Secretary Betty Nenstlel Treasurer Although we lost a few members we had qulte 1 large class to go on to the next year Little grams o dumbness Lzttle grams o Sass Lrttle grams 0 greeness Made up the reshmen class Entermg the school as Sophomores the next fall gave us a real thrlll for we felt that one more step had been taken toward our goal of qraduatlon The flrst event of the year was a Hallowe en party m whtch the unror and Sen nor Hugh School partlcrpated At the close of the year our Bloloqy Class held a steak roast at Everetts qrove Everyone had a good time Although 1 few pupxls could not contlnue wrth our class vue had twenty mne to contmue the next year as umors Wrth smaller grams o dumbness And ewer grams o sass A Ixghter shade of greeness We left the Sophomore class The flrst event of our unlor year vms the electron of Class offtcers Mark Carls was elec ted class Presndent Betty Nenstxel Secretarv and Mark Baum Treasurer Early rn sprmq the class presented the pl xy entrtled Dont Take My Penny The proc eeds of thns play were spent to fxnance the unlor Senxor Banquet The Banquet was 1 seml formal affarr Snall gxfts were glven to the Senrors m remembrance of our Class B cause of Coach Devores untxrmg efforts 1nd the cooperatxon of the team we were able to have a champlonshlp team of the Mountam League A number of the boys m our class made an excellent showmg Although we lost two of our classmates rt can be saxd that our unlor year was very Interesting and excxtlng Lzttle grams o de: rltry Mzxed wzth grams o sass Lrttle grams 0 rrvolzty Made up the umor Class Upon entermq the Senxor year we were fac ed with the obllgatlon of settmg the example for the underclassmen For our fxrst three years rn Hxgh School Mr Baum and Mrs Mosteller were our class advlsors At the begmnmq of our Senlor year Mr Baum was called lnto the armed servrces After some consxderatxon rt was decrded that the marrned members of the faculty should serve together Mr and Mrs Roy F Troy were then selected as our class 1dv1sors A corn roast which was enjoyed by the en txre class marked the beqmnmq of our socnl h1story for the year of I943 X HX I ..
