PrincipaI's Message The public schools of our country are making front page headlines in our daily newspapers. Teacher's Strike appears in bold headlines. Integration problems are the basis for many news stories and for much editorializing. Urban newspapers right here in Montana report accounts of the lack of classroom space, necessitating double-shift scheduling of students. Newspapers and magazines constantly remind us of the critical shortage of teachers. As a result, many schools across our nation continue to be served by uncertified and unqualified teachers. Fortunately, our school has not made this sort of front page reading. As we close this 1967-68 school year, perhaps we should lookback, with gratitude, upon the educational opportunities which have been ours. It is my belief, also, that we can look forward, with hope, toward even brighter educational horizons at NTCHS in the days ahead. P. R. Schrainmeck, Principal

Superin1'encleni's Message As the school year goes sliding down the home stretch and we start collecting the evidence of a year's work in the form of an Annual, it gives us a chance to pause and contemplate what education means to us, now. First, it means a greater awareness of all the skills necessary to keep our technology in high gear. Our high schools will accept this fact by making more facilities and instructors available in vocational-technical work. Secondly, there will be a greater awareness on the part of most students to study for a career in a much more serious manner than in the past. You will make more use of your guidance coun- selor in a vocational and technical sense. Thirdly, higher education will become a MUST for those who wish to seek professional status. It will be an exciting and interesting world, and much of it will be recorded in the pages of your high school Annual. Best wishes, Hazen Lawson, Superintendent
