Superintendent's Message SUPERINTENDENT HAZEN R. LAWSON This year's annual is a pictorial review of events and people as they have par- ticipated in activities of their school life this past year. It represents a living his- tory of every person involved. As the years go by, this annual will have increasing value to most of you, and will bring to mind many happy incidents of your school life. It is also an annual to be proud of from the standpoint of workmanship and de- sign. It is a fitting memorial to the efforts of the Senior Class. Sincerely, Hazen Lawson

PrincipaI's Message PRINCIPAL PAUL R. SCHRAMMECK To the Class of 1966, I extend my congratulations. You have had many accomplish- ments during your high school years. Many people are proud of you, This yearbook theme of People is a particularly thought-provoking theme. Try to imagine with me, for a moment, what a high school educational experience would be with- out the people who surround you just now. You would start school. You would receive about twenty-five basic textbooks. You would be assigned to learn most of the material in these books. It would be necessary for you to refer to hundreds of reference books to complete your studies, BUT, there would be no teacher, Qand teachers are peoplej to guide your learning: no classmates to share the educa- tional experience with you. Perhaps you would be interested in the study of music. You would acquire an instrument and some music books: however, there would be no teacher to direct your learning: no peo- ple to accomplish the sound of music with you. Suppose you liked athletics. You would receive the necessary athletic equipment, along with some instructions for its care and use. There would be, however, no coaches to assist you in gaining competence, no teammates with which to play the game, and no opposition against which you could put your skills to the challenge. The people, both teachers and students, with which you have been associated these past years have been responsible for that part of your education which is vital, real, and meaning- ful. May the honest and worthwhile associations live long in your memories, and may you be quick to set aside thosewho would influence you to become less than your own best selves. Sincerely, Paul R. Schrammeck
