X X LIHIKI GBACKWARII Time waits for no one, especially high school students. We real- ize this as we looktback on the four swiftly passing years spent at our beloved alma mater. However, when we began our first year, time passed as slowly as sand through an hour glass. As freshmen we visioned before us assemblies, participation in sports and of course, study and learning. We knew that we were a part of the whole scheme now, not just onlookers. Our one goal was to become SENIORS, although at this stage of the game we did not know how much studying and learning it meant. In our sophomore year, we buckled down to our work for we saw that what we learned was to aid us in making our place in the world. How proud we were when we received our first honor letter! A whole year was behind us now and the sands of time were picking up speed. We sailed through the second year cheering at games and taking a new interest in our school. Two years had elapsed now and half the sand had sifted away. We were upperclassmen now. The junior play, magazine drives and the thrill of seeing our own classmates battle their way to victory in sports hurried us through our junior year. Before we knew it, we were SENlORSl There was so much to do with committees, interviews, receiving our rings, preparing the yearbook and the senior prom that we hardly realized commence- ment was upon us. With sad hearts we bid our never-to-be-forgotten school days goodbye for we all know that although the hour glass will be emptied many more times, never will such pleasant memories linger. HT he happier the time, the quicker it passes. -PLINY THE YOUNGER

To the true teacher, time's hourglass should still run goltl-zlustf,-DOUGLAS JERROLD 'k ir We, the class of '50, fondly dedicate our annual to Miss Anna Byers, a veteran of 21 years at N.T.H.S. Miss Byers' good nature has made her a favorite with everyone, especially our senior class. Wee, the graduates, will always remember the many history classes she colored with her pleasing personality. Our stay with Miss Byers has passed as quickly as the sand through an hour glass. However, her memory is a lasting souvenir which we will always cherish. May this book recall many happy memories i11 the future and may she he an inspiration to our students for many years to come.
