The people of Texas are being told that the South has seceded from the Union, and that Texas has voted to fly the Confederate Flag. Committee work really paid off for 7A when their production of Texas Under Six Flags proved to be a hit with their parents and friends. Susan Selby, Carol Sue Clarke, Bob McMath, and Susan Parkes. Grandpa is telling the children about the early state- hood of Texas. He happened to keep a scrapbook, and this helps a great deal. Pat Cochran, Bill Ashby, Pete Hamilton, and Caroline Marvin. Our encyclopedias afford us much good reading. Pat Cochran found interesting information about the Spanish explorers who came to Texas. Kathleen Gardner was also a member of this group but was absent due to a cold.
