In the Sleepy Hollow High School this year, Soccer was added as a new sport. Mr. Ray Willmott, Fame in our Art Gallery, Those players who gained Honorable Mention to the Hall of Fame, and who the coach of the soccer team had a surprising record of 4 wins and 6 defeats for a good record consider- ing that the team had no previous experience with soccer. The graduating players from the first SHHS soccer team are Lou Dapas, jim Fitzpatrick, and Vincent Lee, all of whom will be entered into the Hall of Varsity Spring is once again on its way and the old cry Play Ball will be heard on every baseball diamond throughout the United States, The pin-point towns of North Tarrytown and Tarrytown will have their contributions to make to this tradition, too. Calling themselves the Sleepy Hollow Headless Horsemen, the joined forces will set out to seek victories at will be returing to school and soccer next year are Joe Carinha, Poncho Alvado, Scoopsie Ballas, Joe Prusak, Paul Lukavic, and Ricky Waite. An important highlight of this years team was the fact that Joe Carinha, Lou Dapas, and Bill Talmadge made the all star team and did a hne job represent- ing Sleepy Hollow in the All-Star Game. We cannot predict pre- cisely what the future holds in store for us, but we can be confident that our hold-overs from last year like Stan Shaughnessey, Scoopsie Ballas, and Don Murray, will practice co-operation, team work, and good sportsmanship, and they will make the first season for Sleepy Hollow a good one.
