tllllllrrrt 5 L All r 1 llyylf? M 1 4 if Av THE HISTORY OF THE CLASS OF ' As we jog along the dusty trarl of the future we glance back at the hoof beats we have left behrnd us, and we recall the four happrest years of our lrves Remember the day the Headless Horseman threw open rts doors to recerve us rnnocent and bewrldered freshmen? We were excrted at the prospect of at last assemblrng wrth those almrghry senrors It seemed that we had warted so long to walk rn that brg front door' A few weeks later we had our formal welcome to the senror hrgh school the rnrtratron We performed the usual stunts to please the whrms of the senrors we counted sprkes rn the fence, marched up Beekman Avenue rn our baby clothes and all the rest of the nonsensrcal feats that all freshmen are subjected to Pat Seba and Red Nrcol were chosen mascots We held our frrst class meetrng wrth Mr Wrllrams as our advrsor Corrnne Stewart was elected presrdent Andy Cohen vrce presrdent Vrvran Whrte, treasurer and Pat Seba secretary Remember the day we became sophomores We were no longer lowly frosh to be looked down upon by upper classmen We held our first meerrng of that year wrth Mr Kalrnger as our advrsor Andy Cohen was elected presrdent Tom Smrth was vrce presrdent, joan Warte was elected treasurer, and Ellre Malnrs took over as secretary Later on rn the year, we held our sophomore dance whrch went over pretty well, consrderrng Remember the day we became yunrors we had finally reached the pornt where we were upper classmen, Hurrah' We had already made our mark rn our hrgh school careers Bob Berry was well on hrs way to establrsh a new track record rn New York 'dh hn Prusak was promrsrng to be another Albert Ernstern Jeanne Madden w 1, comrng dra matrst Lrl McGowan had become well known rn the musrc A d whrl rbara Lynch and jean Ferrarr had yorned the ranks of the famous rnternar . al trave We met wrth Mr Hutch our lunror advrsor to elect o that new, and we hoped drfferent year joan Warte became our presrdent UW aylor was elected vrce presrdent Gay Gurbord became treasurer and Ellre Malnrs was elected secretary agarn fThe grrls really took overb The next brg step was to choose our class rrngs Oh drd we feel rmportant wrth our brand new school rrngs Then we junrors really became known as an unusual class wrth the dance that made the whole school srt up and take notrce- The Drsmal Drag on Frrday the 13th 1957: Vrrgrnra Gallagher and Chrrs Mangrerr spent many hours workrng on a new and strmulatrng advertrsrng campargn rt succeeded and our dance was a tremendous success Another rmpo t phase of our junror year was t G O electron Both partres battled for the 1 l xl L comrng next years G O 'T ul d rt was a very close and hrghly com e elect r Tom Smrth was elec esrden u Camrllrerr became vrce presrdent, E 5 Malnrs med the role of sec ry and y Gurbord took over as treasurer , , At thrs po w careers, we began to eel ew dent of ourselves, knowrng that we had almo reached our supreme desrre to bdcome a Senror' The towards the end of our yunror year we began layrng the plans for our unror Senror Prom We decrded to call rt the Coronatron Ball and on the brg nrght our own Gayle Taylor was chosen Queen of the ball We can truly say that A good trme was had by all Remember the day we became Senrors' What a thrrll rt was to be assrgned our own Study Hall seats and to have the drstrnctron of berng able to tell all those under classmen Thrs rs my homeroom seat youll have to move Ah but we soon found out that the lrfe of 1 Senror rs not one of complete luxury Our first step of thrs new year was to elect our offrcers oan Warte became our class p rgarn and john Prusak was elected vrce presrdent fa boy at last? Io Resto me s tary Lrl McGowan took over the posrtron of recordrng secretary and Beverly Petcoff fo herself assrgned to the tedrous posrtron of treasurer Th all xr thrng on our agenda was to welcome those lowly frosh Lrl McGowan an Halffrorella were chosen co chfrrrmen for our Receptron Commrttee However to out Eimay we felt as though thrngs worked out rn a vrce versa manner but we had fun Cesr la vre' After that we plowed rnto our football season and all the events and other actrvrtres that followed We organrzed a Yearbook Staff md berng as optrmrstrc as most Senrors are, we chose The Future rs Ours as our class motto Chrrstmas vacatron came as a well earned rest but we soon found ourselves back rn school agarn worryrng about those dreaded mru terms Nevertheless, after we crossed that hurdle wrth mrnor frustratrons, we went on to brgger and better thrngs Plans were now berng made for our graduatron you mrgh say wrth mrxed emotrons Class nrght Commencement Baccalurate and all the rounds of farewells to N T and then we were faced wrth the future-our future We shall never forget all the frrendshrps good trmes and knowledge that we found here rn N T and we know that we shall always remarn loyal to our beloved Alma Mater joan Warte JF-1 .gr , v - , 1 r 1 Q , . it l - M - e , , 1 . , - . 1 ' ' 1 1 fast 3 . ., ,, . . . , I swat. ty! lr 4.
