NEW YORK TIMES Editor-in-chief: W. L. Hines Iune 30, 1959 COCKTAIL PARTY HONORS GOVERNOR TIME: 4-6 P. M. DATE: Saturday, Iune 29, 1959 PLACE: Home of the wealthy sugar tycoon, Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Vanderbilt Lewis, 888 Park Avenue, New York City. OCCASION: Cocktail party for the Governor of New York State, the Honorable Michael E. Lazor. This reporter attended a very grand, but rather elite cocktail party on Saturday afternoon. My fellow reporter, photographer and I were greeted at the main entrance by the Lewis' head butler, Charles Wright, more formally known as Ieeves. Head valet, lack Yager, took our hats, gloves, canes and spats. Among the notables present were: Dominick Cabriele, president of False Teeth, Inc., The Teeth that stay in with glue perfected by Alice Sabo, that famed scientist: Ioe Alvado, first baseman for the New York Yankees: Iohn Maffucci, founder of the C. Iohn Maff Atlas Success Course: Dr. Anthony C. Capossela, MD., TMU., TVA., WPA., noted psychiatrist and head of Bellevue Hospital. N.Y.C., and his assistant, Dr. Ann Taylor, M.D., PDQ. Dr. Capossela was seen conversing with his cousin, Rose, who is now president of the Inter- national Baby-Sitters' Union. tSitters are now get- ting Sl an hour per child due to her efforts.l Ed Croke, head coach at Dartmouth, was enjoy- ing his cocktails while discussing plays with head coaches at Fordham, Iim Grierson and Mary Biros. CLASS Dot Forman, owner of the Exotic Gown Shoppe, was showing her gown to Stell Xenos, who just returned from Greece, also to Barb Gileno and Io Selneckovic, those lovely models. Philomena D'Eufemia, president of the U-Need-A-Sun-Tan Oil Company, and Baltasar Morata, head of the Baltmor Hardware Stores, were chatting interest- edly. Bill Papp is now vice president of Baltmor Hardware, Inc. Mrs. Lewis told me that her home was decorated by the famous interior decorator, Lou Beni. Lou is also head of the Murray Dale School of Dancing. Iohn Bellio and Ioe Partlow, owners of the Heavy Lifting and Fast Moving Company were given the contract for all furniture moving in and out of the house. All plumbing was done by Elaine Margotta and Rose Ginnetti, the women plumbers of tomorrow. Architects for the lovely home were Iohn Angus and Barney Bus. Delia Marchoni, Mary Ann Blascik, and Anne Drahos, secretaries to Bob Burray, owner and operator of the exclusive Behind the Eight-Ball billiard parlor, were discussing Dick Gallaghan's new shirt. This out of the world creation is being featured at his Smart Shirt Shop. Gordon Gray and Frank Arnold, owners of the Shiny Brass Rail, which was designed by that famous engineer, Floyd Variano, were discussing the remarkable record of Coach Bill Kelly's Knicks. C2 wins, 22 losses.l Helen Kovach, Marie Rizzi, and Iean Garzia were chatting gaily about their trousseau prob- lems to Helen Sidorik and Kate McStay, who will walk down that isle at a double wedding next week.
