Is it possible that, but four short years ago, we, as inexperienced seamen, eager to unfold the mys- teries of the deep, set forth upon this, the first major voyage of our lives? Our log is now com- plete and we can recall, as if it were only yester- day, the first insertion we apprehensively made in the bold. blank expanse .... SEPTEMBER, 1945 The first step of the humble Freshman Class was to elect officers to pilot them through the stormy waters of the first year. Michael Lazor was elected Skipper with Iohn Maffucci, lean Gallagher, and Alice Sabo as his competent assistants. Miss Verena Deuel shared a great portion of the re- sponsibility for the first lap of our voyage. The Class of '46 gave us a warm reception to launch us on our journey. That day we were attired in various odd-looking garments which rendered us almost incapable of ordinary recognition. Iean Gallagher and Elmer Kenyon almost missed the boat when they were captured by the seniors and forced to serve as mascots for the day. MARCH, 1946 The first entertainment to be provided by the class of '49 was a successful spring dance. The success of this dance and the year in general gave CLASS us something to look forward to in the three years yet to come. SEPTEMBER, 1946 After a full, free summer we, as young seabees. are back and ready for the second lap of our journey. This year found us again guided by that capable captain, Michael Lazor. Edward Croke. Dominick Cabriele, and Iohn Maffucci, served as second, third, and fourth mates this time. Miss Marion Hennessey gave our crew her able guid- ance this year. MARCH, 1947 True to the expectations of our freshman year. we again held a dance for which we received much well-deserved praise. And an unusual dance it was! Those who attended were carried into an unknown phantasy and believed themselves ac- tually walking on the bottom of the sea, for our dance was called the Undersea Jamboree. SEPTEMBER, 1947 Our Iunior year is now beginning and we are setting sail on the third lap of our journey, confi- dent that our last two years will prove to be the 24 11-wma
