While the Northmen did not repeat as Champions they finished strong and ended in second place in the Onondage County League and had an overall record of I2 victories and four defeats Sore arms on the pitching staff handicapped the team in the middle of the season. However, the team bounded back to give Solvay County Champions its only defeat. Conley, B. Hutt, J. Stasko, M. Michael, R. De Anthony, W. Michael, Manager. Second row: R. Eaton, R. Blakeslee, H. Stanton, J. Moore, F. Tornatore, Mr. Kniesier, Coach. Third row: J. Ochsner, T. Tonzi, R. Davis, W. Carson, A. Tarzia. After one year of intramural wrestling, the sport was introduced as a varsity interscholastic activity for the first time this year. North Syracuse was accepted by the Central New York Wrestling League, composed of fourteen other member teams. We are competing in the Western Division of that league, against such teams as Rome, Au- burn, Baldwinsville and West Genesee. Our present league record is two wins and five losses, with one wrestling meet with Baldwinsville still to be de- cided. In non-league encounters the team has beaten Marcellus, and Jamesville De Witt, while losing to Seneca Falls and Chitenango. I47

Paninski, J. Cowles, R. Jaeger, R. Littleboy, R. Davis, R. Richardson. The North Syracuse Track and Field Team finished second in the County Meet in T956, and with a dual record of five wins and one loss in the books prospects for the coming year look good. The Northmen had five county champions last season and all but two are returning for the T957 season. Bill Carson broke the school record in the Mile with a 4:43.47 effort and Bill Baumler set a new county record in the 880 with a 2107.9 burst. John Stasko claimed first place in the 440-yd. dash hitting a 55.3. Jim Keach, the only senior, made the West Point Section lll team along with Bill Carson when he leaped l9'9V2 inthe running broadiump.
