.igi:1'ssz,..iw-iatirisag ws. . '- , . ' ., in cf ,ii ff'-- ii..f,,-in-:fi COMMUNITY AMBASSADOR PROGRAM Community Ambassador Proiect! Fine we're all for it! But where do we begin? Will our community give both financial and moral support to it? These questions arose in the minds of adults enrolled in the Adult Education Class of 1953. Their idea had begun taking shape when they heard of the Student Exchange Program and wondered why a similar plan could not be undertaken for the next age group. After looking into this suggestion more closely, the adults were referred to the Experiment in International Living in Putney, Vermont. This began a community-wide project. The requirements for becoming an ambassador begin with the most-an interest in international affairs and the growth of democracy. Secondly one must be a high school graduate and between the ages of eighteen and thirty. Because it will be necessary to deliver talks and show pictures of his or her trip, the ambassador must be available to the community for a period of six months to a year and a resident of the North Syracuse School District. For convenience, a board of interested villagers is chosen to interview the applicants. To become better acquainted with the young people the board holds an informal tea. From this group the board selects several applicants and these are sent to Putney, Vermont, listing the qualifications of each young adult. The choice of the Experiment in International Living is returned to North Syracuse and the final vote is taken by the board, Only the best success has accompanied the Community Ambassador Proiect so far. All such results are due only to the deep interest taken by our community, one of which we may be iustly proud. The class of '56 extends their sincerest wishes and hopes the Ambassador Program will become a custom of our community carried out each year. Miss Hess, Ambassador, Mrs. Taylor, Committee, Mrs, Richards, Committee, Mr Richards.

GREETINGS FROM MAURICE S. HAMMOND The first senior class in our new High School has the distinct privilege of establishing customs which will affect all future classes. We should try to reflect a spirit of thankfulness for the beauti- ful building which has been provided for us. I am sure everyone will try to keep it as nice as we should for many years to come. We suspect that most of the students will spend their adult life in this area. Therefore, this senior class may look forward to much happiness in a community which has been founded on a positive philosophy of life.
