Student CBody Officers INCE the publishing of the last year book in l9Zl, the student body of North Summit High School as an organization has accomplished a great many things. Some of the accomplishments are: A constitution has been established. This in- cludes all of the laws that our organization must fol- low Awards are given in activities. These activities are devided into two classes-athletic and activity. The athletic award is a bar with an indian head, on which is placed the football, basketball, or Winged-foot ac- cording to the honor won. The activity award is a block N. S. pin. A pearl is added to this pin for every activity in which the student wins his letter. The organization of officers meets each week to discuss the problems of the student body. This year these officers have been very interested and have all been in harmony with any idea for the betterment of North Summit High School. Headed by a very capable student body president, Newell Chappell, this organization has progressed much more rapidly than previous organizations. This year book is the Hrst year book that has been published in eight years. Due to this fact the struggle was verv difficult, and much honor should be given to the staff for this accomplishment. This year we have published nine War Whoops -one each month. Other years we have published eight. The standard of the paper has raised a great deal. We are proud of our school paper. We now have a business department that is com- posed of seventy-five students. The course includes all required business subjects. A new room has been constructed for the agricul- ture department, and a Smith-Hughes man employed. The student body has purchased a cyclorama drop and a velvet curtain for the auditorium. They also have purchased a school bus. They use this bus to transport students home at six o'clock. This makes it possible for students to participate in extra-curri- cular activities. On Parent Day, the student body officers do all they can to show the parents the importance of an organization, and to make the parents feel that they really appreciate their cooperation. From these accomplishments we have our present successful democratic organization-the North Summit High School. Page T'wel1,'e
