Since re l -» MR. ANDY GRIFFITH Senior Beauty SHAUNDA MORGAN We were very lucky this year to have our Class Beauty pictures judged by Andy Grif- fith. After each class had nominated three girls for Class Beauty, the pictures were made and sent to Mr. Griffith to be judged. If it had not been for a Broadway show called No Time for Sergeants, Andy Griffith might still be a full-time teacher and a part-time night club entertainer. Instead, he began his fifth season last fall in the role of Sheriff Andy Taylor on The Andy Griffith Show.” Griffith was born in Mr. Airy N.C.; there he attended elementary and high school He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Many North Carolinians remember him as Sir Walter Raleigh in the outdoor pag- eant, ‘ ‘The lust Colony,’ ’ and as the South- ern deacon in the monologue, What It Was--Was Football.
