Practicing for weeks early in the morning, the halls chimed with Sleigh Ride and other joyous songs for the Christmas concert. The band participated in the Concert Festival, practicing diligently for the excellent rating that they want. The band also participated in the Spring concert with the orchestra and chorus. ln the band there is an excellent jazz band who also compete for awards. Some members also play in the orchestra. The Senior Lounge is a first for the students here at North Springs and is quite appreciated. The Student Council also participated in such events as Operation Facelift and The Empty Stocking Fund. It is the best way of expressing my personal- ity. DO YOU FEEL YOUR SOCIAL STATUS IMPROVES BY BEING ON THE GYMNASTIC TEAM? No not real- ly, but I guess people know me because I'm a gymnast. DOES BEING IN SPORTS HINDER YOUR WEEKEND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES: I don't do gymnastics over the weekend, but when I get really sore from weekday practice it makes the weekend kind of bad. DO YOU FEEL YOU WOULD DO BETTER ACADEMICALLY IF YOU DIDN'T PARTICIPATE IN GYM- NASTICS? Anything that takes up time offsets your grades. WHAT GOES THROUGH YOUR MIND WHEN YOU'RE IN MID-AIR AND ABOUT TO LAND ON YOUR HEAD? Fear - I think what a jerk I'm making of myself. And where did my spotter go HELP!!! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT WHEN YOU'RE COMPETING: Not killing myself!!! WHAT'S THE MOST EMBARRASSING THING YOU'VE EVER DONE? Getting a 0 on vault. DO YOU FEEL THERE IS TOO MUCH EMPHASIS ON WINNING? Yes every- one says STATE by my goal is to do my best and get a fair score. ARE YOU AWARE OF THE CROWD AND THE NOISE DURING COMPETITION? No, you con- centrate on what you're doing. Gymnasts do crazy things . . . like . . . Beth Ste- phenson's crazy beam routines . . . going to Cha- tooga on Sunday and drivhg 5 mph. on busy streets . . . having chinese tire drills at busy inter- sections . . . hanging out the window and singing the SPARTAN light song . . . stopping at McDonald's and acting like idiots . . . doing stunts so bad at practice that we spend the rest of prac- tice laughing until our stomaches hurt . . . Caren's crazy ardvark laugh . . . Laurie and her love life talks . . . Chan is always hyper . . . WE HAVE A GOOD TIME!!!!!! ... We're 1991 ... The counselors, Mrs. Cole and Mr. Dinkins, help seniors plan for college and businessg students with schedulingg and they listen to our problems. Those who work in the front office also devote much of their time to the students, school problems, and everything else. Mrs. Harris has her hands full with the absent students. Mrs. Pelfrey contends with the treasury and organizing the front office. Miss Paradise has devoted much of her time to helping the students with their problems. Both Mr. Hansard and Miss Paradise come to many school functions to watch the students participate. Mr. Hansard can also be seen all over the campus helping students. Through all of the mess at North Springs, there are some people who try to organize the chaos. .tif :i'6Ef:s'f2 '- a f- P- 1 -fe' 'L 'w rin ipal YUUH SUHU and Yllllll B GEURGYA SCHOOL I uicla ce ' X 1 Mrs. Harris if in T ll EUUNSHUH EST FRIEND PUNSELURS ASSUCIATION gif Q 1 , in ! m ' , 'L gm.. . .-f- ze' i', .,qY-WW ef-dr ADMINISTRATION JENNY D.
