Students wait hungrily in the long cafeteria line before they can be served. To solve this overcrowded problem, identical lines were formed which provided the students with more efficient service. By dividing each separate lunch period into two halves, students can use the free half to study or relax. Fewer Frosh Although the new junior high schools relieved North Side of many freshman, crowed conditions still existed this year. The cafeteria remained scheduled upon the divided lunch periods of last year. The double assemblies didn ' t hinder having good programs. We heard an excellent talk by Mr. Don Lonie; Rubin- off was on hand to play his violin; and students of Mr. Fleck ' s U. S. history class presented an inspiring Thanksgiving program based upon Abe Lincoln ' s life. Because of good Redskin cooper- ation and courtesy, the crowded stair- ways and halls also became no prob- lem. In all everyone accepted the con- ditions well, and no problems arose. Amid the crowded halls at North, Stevie Richards and Denny Stewart manage io find a moment of some privacy.

An over abundant amount of snow seems to have this Redskin parked in for the day. Due to the increased number of persons driving, the parking problem has become more acute. The car in the background is evidently hunting for a safer spot. Crowded Conditions Still Prevail With Portraying Abraham Lin- coln at the Thanksgiving Assembly. Tom Crull reads the blessing. A group oi character sketches oi Lin- coln ' s life were used. Since 1959 was Lincoln Year, this was very appropriate.

While helping her sister. Judy, study for a French test. Sherry Moore tells her how to conjugate a difficult verb. While discussing it on the phone. Ellen Schaper and a fellow algebra 3 student find the answer to an assigned problem. Redskins Have Varied Study Habits Redskins study earnestly to learn more about the world in which they live. Lamp lights burn late while Dome- landers follow Odysseus ' s travels and cram for final exams. It is not uncommon to see pupils polishing off that last math problem while frantically hurrying to class. Most Redskins are assigned a seat in the study hall or cafeteria where they may study during the school day. North is fortunate in having a library where pupils may go to do research work. During the warmer months, many North Siders finish their homework over a coke at Johnny ' s or under the shade of a tree along the bank of the St. Joe. This year an honor study hall was in- itiated in which selected upperclass- men were given the privilege of study- ing in the cafeteria without faculty supervision. Instead of going to study hall, many students seek the quiet atmosphere of the library in which to study. Whether leisurely 10
