Classicists Study Ancient Civilization Iunior Classical League is a national or- ganization composed of classical clubs through- out the United States. lts purpose is to encour- age among the students a greater understand- ing and appreciation ot the civilization, lan- guage, literature, and art of ancient Greece and Rome. Our own I.C.L.'s events tor the sea- son included a Christmas party held in the cafeteria, a joint dance and picnic held with the Modern Language club. The officers for the fall term were Barbee Moriarty, senior consul, Deanna i-linshaw, Junior consulg Iudy Bice, scribay Martha Miller, quaestorg Iohn Bentz and Becky Wright, aedilesy Paul Wehrenloerg, praedicator. Second term officers were Iudy Bice, senior consulg Deanna Hinshaw, junior consul: Vernell Gehron, scribag Deanna Mare quart, quaestorg Madelyn Beberstein and Mari- lyn Hicks, aedilesp Iohn Bentz, praedicator. Students Pursue Modern Language Club was tormed by the merging ot French and Spanish clubs. lt not only otters opportunities tor advancement in that tield, but also strives to make the students better adjusted socially, as they take part in each meeting. Activities tor the club have been a dance, co-sponsored with the lunior Classical League, and a joint Christmas party. ln the spring they again joined for their annual picnic.
